Brandon Coombs Obituary

Brandon Allen Coombs 1983 ~ 2008 Brandon Allen Coombs entered this life seven weeks premature on February 3, 1983, with his twin brother, Jason, minutes behind. Brandon departed this life on March 7, 2008, as a result of a tragic accident in Heber City, Utah. Brandon was born to Joseph and Toni Coombs in Provo, Utah. He lived most of his 25 years in Heber City, attending J.R. Smith Elementary, Wasatch Middle School, and graduating from Wasatch High School in 2001, where he participated in wrestling. Brandon was an Eagle Scout, graduated from LDS Seminary, and received his Duty to God award. Brandon recently graduated as an apprentice plumber from UVSC and was preparing for his journeyman exam. He was currently working for Graham Plumbing in Kamas, Utah. Brandon loved being a cowboy. He enjoyed being on his horse in the mountains with his dogs, friends, and family. Brandon had a passion for adventure, ever reaching for perfection with the next ride, jump, or trick. He loved riding his motorcycle at the Sand Dunes, hunting with his friends and family, and bull riding with his cousins. Brandon was a hardworking young man who never slept in, could not sit still, and always looked forward to a day of hard work or hard play. He was a dedicated worker, a trait he learned from his father. He was an excellent plumber and he took great pride in his work. Brandon is survived by his loving parents, Joseph and Toni Coombs; brother Jason Coombs; fiancé Jodi Baird; grandparents, Jesse and LaVon Coombs and Jerry and Dixie Surratt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dear Jodi,
I am so sorry for the loss you have experienced in lossing Brandon. I know how much you loved him, and will continue to love him. Just because he is gone from this mortal existance don't think that he doesn't feel the love. I know in my heart that he is still with you. Maybe not in the physical sense, but in spirit he will be there for you to lean on and he continues to Love you also. This I firmly believe. I'm sure you will need time to grieve for your loss, but I also believe that Brandon would want you to be happy again. He loved you so. You could see it in his eyes whenever you were with him. I can't even begin to imagine your grief. I know that your whole future was wrapped up in the hopes and dreams you had together. May our Heavenly Father bless you and comfort you in your hours of need.
This is not something that you just get over quickly and don't try to, take it at whatever pace you need to. Don't let anyone tell you okay you have had enough time to grieve. You will know when the time is right.
You are blessed to have two very loving families that stand ready to comfort you, your own and Brandon's. Stay close to them both.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay strong, and when you feel as though you can't go on, hit your knees and thank God for the time and LOVE you and Brandon shared.
Love, April

Joe, our hearts were sadden to learn that a friend is grieving. "Disbelief" is first thought that one so young is taken from his earthly home too soon. But yet, we have knowledge and can rejoice that Brandon received his "call" to return to his heavenly home to begin his "mission" there. Although, we never met Brandon, you shared a little part of him with us, though your memories and experiences, as his father. These are forever his loving gifts to you. Through your faith in an Eternal Father you will again have a joyous reunion. May you, your wife and son Jason be surrounded and embraced by our Savior Jesus Christ's loving arms. May you also feel the love and comfort of family and friends. With our prayers,

I have known the Coombs Family for many years, and have watched Brandon and Jason grow into fine young men. Brandon started his plumbing career with my company. We were proud to have him as an employee and friend. He was very dedicated at both! I have always been so impressed with the brotherly love between these two fine young men. I believe it stems from the fact that they are blessed with AWESOME parents!!! My family spent many hours with Brandon in the mountains camping and snowmobiling and he was always such a hoot to be around. I will always remember his beautiful smile and his kind eyes. My prayers go out to Joe and Toni and Jason and to Jodi. Always remember he loved you ALL very much. He especially loved you Jason, you were his Guardian Angel, and now Brandon can be yours. ALL OUR LOVE, THE APRIL KNIGHT FAMILY

Brandon and I knew each other as children. One time we were in the barn behind their house playing with their puppies and we trying to think of a last name we could use after we got married. We were too young to know that you took on the man's name. So we thought of Smith and things like that. I haven't seen Brandon in a long time but I have fond memories of him in my childhood that I will always cherish. I am very sorry for the Coombs family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bev and I well remember when the Twins were born and then many memories of them growing up. We have great affection for Toni & Joe and their excellent parenting skills. Toni grew up as our next door neighbor, as Grandparents Dixie & Jerry lived as our neighbors for many years and the Surratt family remain "family" to us. Our hearts go out to you at this time. Brandon's death is tragic and points out our tenous hold to Earthly Life.
May the peace of Jesus Christ be with each of you at this difficult time
Love,
Ray and Beverly Bishop
