Carol Ann Johnson Nielson (Benjamin) passed away on March 26, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 21, 1935 in Springville, Utah to LeRoy Dean and Marie Peery Johnson.
She married Cleon T "Cy" Nielson on September 23, 1954 in Springville. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 10, 1960. They were loving parents and devoted grandparents and she said her children and grandchildren were the "icing" on her cake.
Carol and Cy lived in the same home in Benjamin for 57 years where they farmed and raised their family. Carol worked at Mountain View Hospital in Payson for 25 years, many of those years as the Human Resources Director.
Carol was well known for her musical talent on both the piano and organ. She accompanied and played for countless programs, church meetings, and funerals. She also taught piano lessons for several students, including her grandchildren. She served in many church callings during her lifetime, and loved serving in both the Payson and Provo temples.
She is survived by her children Marcia Stewart, Gregg (Kathy) Nielson, Ann (Scott) Jensen, and Richard (Laurie) Nielson, 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Dean (Sondra) Johnson, and her sister Mary (Lee) Bate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon "Cy" Nielson, her parents, and her son-in-law, Walt Stewart, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the Benjamin LDS Church, 3238 West 7300 South, on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at noon. There will be a viewing at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the church prior to the services. Interment will be at the Benjamin Cemetery.
