She was the sweetest kindest aunt I ever had. When I was nine my father died . She was the only adult who put her arms around me and just let me cry. I was so embarrassed that I got her dress all wet from my tears. She told me not to worry she held my hand and told me I would be alright. She helped me to get through a terrible time in my life. She had a quiet strength that I will always remember.

When I was about 10 years old, I walked to her home once on a hot summer day. Aunt Carol received me kindly and immediately gave me a popsicle. Her openness made everyone around feel like they mattered!

What a special family we have! Carol has always been a huge reason for that, as her enthusiasm and love touched all our hearts through the years. My heart goes out to my sweet Uncle Gordon and their children and grandchildren, as well as her sisters and brother at this time. Please know that my heart and mind will be with you these next few days, even if I can't be there in person since I live out of state. Love to you all.
