Curtis Ray Bybee passed away peacefully in his sleep, Wednesday morning, 14 December 2011, at his home where he has lived for several years with his daughter and son-in-law Leland and Sue Wright.

He and Mary returned to Utah in the mid 1980s where they settled in the Provo, Grandview area and made many dear friends. Curt and Mary's posterity number 31 grandchildren, 106 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. The last few weeks of his life were made more pleasant by iCare Home Health & Hospice.

My last conversation to Curt was that "l'll see you next Summer," to which he replied "Promise?" I'm sorry that we were not able to keep our promise, we will miss him. Lacey, our border collie will also miss Curt, she loved being around him very much and he laughed a lot around her. All of our love to the family at this time. His influence in our Wood family began when my mom, Elma McBride Wood, moved to Oakland. We were privileged to have been raised under Bishop Bybee in the Oakland 4th Ward. He and his wife are still held fondly by our family. An honor to have some of his children as my friends while we were growing up.
Much love to all those in his family.

Dear Sue, Lee and family, I was saddened to hear of your father's passing. We Larsens have so many fond memories of our days in Oakland with him as our bishop. He was a wonderful man who cared for everyone. I'm glad he was able to stay with you for the last while. It is a wonderful experience to be of service to a parent who has done so much for us and others. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish I could be there for the funeral but I have one in my ward for a long-time friend at the same time. My love and condolences to all of Bishop Bybee's family. Karol Larsen Palmer
