I was in the Coast Guard, "Lucky" was in the Navy in Long Beach CA in the early 60's. Great guy, great boxer, saw him once in about 1980 when he came out to visit me in Leucadia CA. R.I.P. brother...!

I was late in getting hooked up with a partner for the WON Bass tournament circuit. Somebody told me a guy name Lucky was looking for a partner. I thought to myself, "how could I go wrong with a guy name Lucky" Our first tournament we drew straws and used Lucky's boat. We backed it in the water on the pre fish morning. The battery was dead. We got it jumped, ran 3 miles across Padre Bay and ran out of gas. We got towed in, fueled up and ran to our first spot to fish. Lucky grabbed the rope on the trolling motor and it broke. This all left me to wonder "Who in the hell named this guy Lucky" We had a lot of fun fishing together as a team that year. Lucky was a great guy. I will always remember him with a smile on my face. My thoughts go out to his family.

Dear Laura -

My heart is breaking for you - Dave's passing was so very unexpected. I am so glad that he came to visit Duffy in the hospital last October in St. George - they had a good visit. Who knew that it would have been the last one for them both.
It's so hard to believe that they are now both gone - friends from the olden days are now reunited forever.
I called Mike - Duffy's brother - and let him know - he was impacted by this news also. Mike and Dave had a chance to visit at Duffy's memorial in November - again, friends from the olden days catching up.
Dave - always the character - what stories he would tell. If there are cars in heaven I can see Dave driving something from the 1930's with a big bass painted on the hood, flames - or maybe clouds now - on the sides of the hood, and Betty Boop on the trunk!
I'm as close as a phone call - please let me know if you need a shoulder for support and understanding.
God bless you.

My dear brother you are going to be missed by Duff, Lee,Jeff, Randy,Karen and all of our children, because you have been our family for over 6 decades. We love you dearly and didn't think last month when you came to mom's funeral that we would be going to yours. Never thought this could happen? Our memories of you will always be there and our love for you will be there everyday untill we meet again. I know mom and dad met you and welcomed you, hugged you, and I know our mom teased you like she did here on earth calling out your nickname Howard after Hughes. We had plans on fishing this summer with you, and spending time with you and Laura and that was needed for old time memories. I know brother Lee will miss you as you have been together a long time as best friends, brothers, and always together in heart and soul. Love you and will miss you, and till we are together again RIP
