David Hussey Obituary

1957 ~ 2012
PRICE/RIVERTON-Dave faced everything in life with courage, strength and on his own terms. When doctors told him that he had cancer and only had six months to live, he didn't accept it. Dave lived for five more years, and they were filled with love, adventure and fun.
Dave was born in Price, Utah to LaMar and Frances Nielsen Hussey in 1957. He lived most of his life in the Price, Utah area, graduating from Carbon High School in 1976. Dave had a great sense of humor. He always had a witty comment or funny story to share.
Dave wasn't afraid of hard work. He enjoyed the work but he especially enjoyed working with people. Even as his health declined he kept working because he felt so much fulfillment as a dedicated, hardworking employee.
David was a member of the LDS church. He loved the Lord and relied on his faith throughout the trials of his life. A man of greater faith could hardly be found. He was always ready to serve those around him.
Dave loved being involved in the Carbon County community and made friends wherever he worked or played. He was involved in the Republican Party and several wildlife and OHV organizations. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, camping, and just about anything that got him outdoors.
One day, Dave met Lucy Poulsen Taylor and they fell in love. They were married in December 2009. Although their time together was short, they cherished every moment. Dave became a huge part of Lucy's family. Michelle and Trevor Campbell, Matt, Aaron and Jessica, and Sarah will miss the fun and excitement Dave brought into their home. Thanks for all the adventures Dave.
David passed away May 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife, and their kids; his parents, and siblings, Dana (Richard) Tucker, Dixon (Robin) Hussey, Robin (David) Thayn, Doug (Dana) Hussey, Daryl (Dalina) Hussey, Beth Ann (Ron) Payne, and Doreen (Keanan) Raven. Also numerous nieces , nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and Lucy's extended family.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price, Utah. Funeral Service, Friday, May 18, 2012, 11 a.m. at the Copperview 4th Ward, 12232 S. 3200 W. Riverton, Utah, with a visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Riverton City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.

Dear sweet Lucy, we will miss seeing Dave's smiling face in church. He's such a kind man. Him and I always seemed to land in the church foyer at the same time... me waiting for Keith, him waiting for you. Even in the last few weeks when you could tell he didn't feel well, he still would laugh and joke with us. May the Lord bless you and your family in the days ahead. Sending much love and prayers your way.

Love, Keith & Natalie Reid
