Dixie Covington Obituary

1930 ~ 2017
We cannot imagine two more beautiful smiles as we think of the sweet reunion between Dixie and Dee. Dixie was born March 4th 1930 to Orrin Porter Morgan and Verena Clayton. She married Van "Dee" Covington February 12 1950. Dixie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints attending the Belvedere Ward for most of her life. Dixie was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading, long time friendships and she was known for making the best banana bread. To sum up her life in a few sentences is impossible but anyone who knew her, knew that she had a quick smile, was extremely kind and once she was your friend she was your friend for life.
Dixie is survived by her brother DeMar Morgan, 2 of her sons Troy D. Covington (Wendy), Shaun O. Covington (Lisa) 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband Van "Dee" Covington, son Van Morgan Covington, Brothers Don Gaylen Morgan, Stephen Richard Morgan, Earnest C Morgan Parents, Verena Clayton Morgan and Orrin Porter Morgan

To Dixie's family (and DeMar..her brother)
This message is from Carlos Clayton's family. We didn't know our sweet relative had passed away. Our memories of Dixie were all filled with her kind and getle ways. She always had a smile and always had encouraging words for every situation. We express our gratitude for her example ...our lives are better because we knew her.
We send our love and sympathy to all of you who are her family.

Aunt Dixie I sure will miss you. You were always so kind and concerned about my mom and dad. We had a lot of long conversations over the phone during the last 10 years. You are dear to my heart and I am greatful you have been a big part of my life. May God bless your family and comfort them at this time. . Love Debbie

What a tremendous blessing it was to know such a beautiful, kind hearted lady. Although our visits were few, and certainly not enough, they will be treasured. I will never be able to look at a banana creamie and not smile and think of you sweet friend.
Until we meet again xo
Love to Shaun, Lisa and all Dixie's family xo

We will all miss you. You were such a sweet part of our lives. You were so good to watch over our mom( Dorothy
Waterman - neighbor) in her last days. You were like a big sister to me when you and my sister Charlotte ran around together. My children remember when you would feed them lunch while they were going to school at Hawthorne. The last 81 years have flown by for me but you have never forgotten me when I have called and said " it's Bobby Dell". Not many remember that nick name but you always remembered. Our love will still go on for you as you were such a special lady. Always so elegant and pretty. Tell Dee and Van hi for us when you are with them. Love you so much.
Dorothy(Bobby Dell) Waterman Wilde
