Doris Hart Obituary

1948 ~ 2018
Doris Lee Roberts Hart left us on April 4, 2018, at the age of 70 after a short illness. She was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 21, 1948, to Herman and Doris Deane Roberts. She grew up in Southern California, graduating from Whittier High School in 1966. She graduated from BYU in Elementary Education, with a music minor. She married her eternal companion, John Leslie Hart, on June 28, 1974, in the Los Angeles Temple.
She performed as a soprano in BYU operas and sang with the Grandland Singers. She performed frequently in Church meetings and local theater productions. She served faithfully in LDS ward and stake music callings where she had a unique ability to help cultivate spiritual experiences through music. She was an accomplished singer and found great joy in helping others discover the joy of music. She passed a love of music to her children. Doris was a believer in getting a higher education; she encouraged and helped her six kids seek higher education and advanced degrees. She worked for JCPenney and taught music at Muir Elementary and Legacy Academy, in North Salt Lake.
She and her husband are parents of six children, Rebecca Lynn (Jeremiah) Thompson; David Layne (Reah Abad); Daniel Lewis (Debie Sinanu); Katherine Louise (Chad Petersen); Benjamin Leo (Jennifer Condie); and Lindsey Liz (Nicholas Carter). She deeply loved her 18 grandchildren and centered her life around spending meaningful time with each of them. She was a great teacher of the gospel, in both word and example. Her love for her Savior, the temple, the scriptures, the prophets and her family, was exemplary in all that she did.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Utah East Stake Center, 201 South 600 East, Kaysville, Utah.
