1917 ~ 2014
Effie Eldredge Adams Wilson of Cedar Hills, Utah, passed away at age 96 on Saturday, February 1, 2014, with her daughters at her side.
Effie was born June 22, 1917 in Woods Cross, Utah, to Clarence Glenn and Lucille Lee Eldredge. She graduated from Bear River High School and LDS Business College. She served as County Recorder of Box Elder County for four years. She worked at the State Personnel Board in Sacramento, California, and for the Federal Land Bank in Woodland, California. She was an active member of the organ club in Woodland, California.
She met and married Golden Dennis Adams December 22, 1937, in the Salt Lake temple. Two sons, Dennis Glenn and Stephen Lynn Adams, were born into this marriage.
After Golden died in WW II, Effie was blessed to fall in love again with Virgil LeRoy Wilson, and two daughters joined the family, Lu Ann and Diane Wilson.
Effie found great joy in her posterity, which included 19 grandchildren and 75 great- grandchildren, with one great-great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; two sons, and daughter-in-law Marilyn Miller Adams; one grandson Steven Dennis Adams and two great-grandchildren Ashley and Zachery McNeill; two brothers Clarence and Lee Eldredge, and one sister Mary Mallory.
She is survived by daughters Diane Wilson Moline (Howard) and Lu Ann Wilson West (Stephen), daughter-in-law Linda Adams Hansen (Dale), sister-in-law June Eldredge, brothers Ben Eldredge (Virginia) and Richard Eldredge (Cleo), sisters Louisa Petersen and Jenne Winzeler, sister-in-law Ann Wilson and brother-in-law Dean Adams.
Effie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She served the Lord in many capacities. She served as a stake missionary, Young Women president, Primary president, Relief Society president, and Family History Consultant while living in California. After moving back to Utah, she fulfilled a lifelong desire to serve as a temple organist when she was called to serve in the Mount Timpanogos temple.
A Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 4580 W Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah.
A Visitation will be held from 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
