I was so sorry to her of Ellen's passing. As an neighbor child to the Putman family. We love Ellen and Ray as our own parents.
Ellen was a beautiful example of selfless love and service. She loved her family and showed it in many ways. The front yard Christmas carolers were one of my favorites. It was my privilege and pleasure to be friends with her son Mark.
Thank you for sharing your sweetheart and mom with me. May the Lord comfort you at this time.

Linda, I am so sorry for your loss and I know what if feels like to hear that right now. Even though the words didn't bring me much comfort the fact that they were expressed did. I don't think it really matters if a death is expected or not because either way it hurts but I want you to know that I ache for you.
Sending my love and support,
Nikki, Mike, Ryan & Matt Jepson

Ray,

We are very saddened to hear about Ellen. What a beautiful woman. We love you and Ellen very much and think of you often. Some of our fondest memories were watching you two "kids" dance to, and carry on with our band. It was a real treat to witness the magic and the love between you two, both on and off the dance floor. We are forever grateful for the chance to have known you and Ellen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We are deeply sorry for your loss. For our loss.

To one of the kindest person we knew. Many memories will give your family comfort in the days to come.
If God waits longer than you could wish, it is only to make the blessings doubly precious. He will make haste for our help and not delay one hour too long. May you rest in peace.

Dearest Grandma Ellen (Mom).

Words can not and will not ever be able to express how I always have and always will feel about you and Grandpa Ray (Dad). You and dad will always forever and eternally be a part of my life and who I am and the man I've become. You taught me so much over the years and were there for me through all the fun times and the hard times. Although you had to leave us so suddenly I look forward to the day we all shall meet again. "God be with you 'til we meet again".

Love always forever and eternally,

not a foster child, but one of many 'adopted' neighborhood children who considered Ellen & Ray as surrogate parents through the years.
I will miss your beautiful smile, your voice - both scolding when one of us, your many kids, needed it - and the tender, encouraging, loving & kind voice, offering advice & wisdom. I loved to visit with you and hear the stories of your youth. I will miss you!
To my adopted Putman family, I love you and hope you find peace & comfort knowing that she is at peace.
