Hi, Susan; I was so sorry that I couldn't arrange my work schedule to join you when you were in Independence. We want to visit the area when we have some free time, since I had never been there when Uncle Evan and Aunt Elda Mae lived there. I will always remember what a fun-loving wonderful spirited gentleman he was and how Aunt Elda Mae always dressed her little girls just like dancing dolls--lots of ringlets and fluffy dresses. The best part of his death is the Plan of Salvation that assures us eternal life if we are faithful. We will see them both again. Love, your cousin, Georgis Mae (Ashcraft) Wilkerson

I was so sorry to hear from Ruth of Uncle Evan's passing. I appreciated his visit to our family when Lenora died. We really enjoyed hearing his stories about his youth and his memories of our mother.
I'm sorry I didn't hear about the funeral in time to attend.

We are sorry to hear of Evan's passing. We both enjoyed his visit's when in Provo. I have memories as a kid, always playing on his old Ford truck. He seemed somewhat amused, how often he chased me off the Model A that he drove to work every day! Later, Evan looked after my safety, while I worked on Hydrogen Vehicles in Indp.. We surely will miss both Bro. and Sis. Billings.

Susan and Bob;
We have really missed Evan since you lured him back to Utah. He was one of our most faithful temple workers and hardest workers. Everytime he came to the temple he put in a long day as a worker and patron. No one here will ever forget his cookies either. We love him very much as we do you too.

My familys lives were forever changed because of the love from Bishop Billings and his sweet wife. They were with us thru the hardest time in our lives. He will be truly missed just like the passing of his "sweethart" was.

I remember Bishop Billings since I was a little girl. He will be truly missed by not just a few people but by hundreds who was lucky enough to know him and spend time with. Whenever I need him he came in a heart beat, and I know he will be watching over us.

Bishop Billings was one of the kindest and best men I ever knew.
Like so many my life was blessed by knowing him. I know he is now blessing those he has returned to. It wouldn't be heaven without him and his remarkable family.

Hello. My name is Ken Workman and I would like to offer my condolences to you on the death of your father. While we never met, we were second cousins once removed. While death is a humbling, and sometimes sad, occasion, it was wonderful to read your father's obituary and to find another Workman descendant who was, and is, an active Saint. I am the genealogist for the John and Lydia Workman Family Association. You can learn for about our Association at WorkmanFamily.org. I have added the limited data from your dad's obituary to our family PAF data base but would love to add more. If any of you would like to share genealogy info please contact me at [email protected]. I ham humbled to talk about genealogy to you, since Lydia Billings is one of the great names in LDS and Workman genalogy. Again, please accept my sincere condolences.

I remember Bishop Billings with great fondness and admiration. He and Sister Billings' love of the Gospel was truly an inspiration to us all. I can see Sister Billings smile now that her Evan is home. God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again.

My condolences reach out to Evan Billings' family. The only members of his family I have met are Mel and Joann and their children, but I know that the brothers must have been cut from the same cloth. If that is so, then Evan was a good man. My thoughts are with you.

We did not know Brother Billings, but we know his son Lewis and his family as neighbors. We generally expect that he must have been a remarkable and righteous man as shown by the lives of his children. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to his family.

Evan Billings was one of my Grandmothers favorite cousin brothers. He was my favorite uncle. We will surely miss him. It is sad to see all these great people pass on. Thank you for the example you have set for all of us. Love Diana Wright and Georgia Ashcraft Wilkerson.

We will miss Brother Billings - his stalwart willingness to serve the Lord and His children no matter the personal cost. Like others who served with him at the St. Louis temple, we look forward to sharing a plate of cookies with him and Sister Billings as we catch up on the other side when it is our turn to go home. We are thinking and praying for his family and share in their loss of this wonderful man.

PS: On second thought and looking closely at his picture - and searching the archieves of my getting older mind - I do remember meeting this good man and being impressed with how 'lucky' he was to have the family he had and how they were honoring him by the way they were living. Nice memories of some short moments in our past.

We don't believe we ever met this man but we know his son (Lewis) and his family and if it is true you can best judge a man (or woman) by the family they produce then he must be a mighty fine example - one we would do well to discover his secrets and try to emulate them in our lives.

Our family truly loved this man. He was a huge part of our lives while living in Missouri. We have fond memories of both Bishop and Sister Billings. We will remember them forever.
