Gene and I worked for Western and Delta. I also worked for him in the LCA office at Delta and I always had great respect for him. He was a fine pilot and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed.

Gene and I were close to the same age, and he and I flew as Captain and Co-pilot together several times when we were both based in SLC. I learned a lot from him and trusted his judgement as an excellent airman. He leaves a professional legacy for all pilots to follow.

Julie Block was my dearest friend during Junior High and I have often wondered how the Block family is doing. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Gene. Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I did not personally know Gene Block but have had the chance to learn a bit about Gene and the Block family through his son Jerry who is the Soccer Coach and Associate Athletic Director at Albion College. In addition to the individual legacy Gene built, he continues to transform and improve the lives of others through the work of his children who are exceptional assets to society. The Albion College Athletic Department extends our deepest condolences to the Block family.

I was Jerry's fifth grade teacher at Canyon View Elementary. I remember Gene taking a group of cub scouts to the airport and he invited me and my children to come along. It was a wonderful experience. He will be greatly missed.

Some of my earliest and fondest memories include Gene Block. He was one of my first soccer coaches when I was 6 years old. He and my Dad would ofen take Julie and me skiing at our favorite resort. And when Gene oversaw my Dad's first flight as Captain, Julie and I joined them on a trip to St. Louis. He was a great man who will be dearly missed. My deepest sympathies are with you all in this difficult time.
