Dear Gwen and family (and Glenn and family and Carol and family),
I was saddened to hear of Heber's death. My siblings and I always liked him very much. I, personally, think he IS one of the nicest people I've ever met (and will always be). My aunt Gladys phoned to tell me she had seen the notice in the paper. I wish I could come, at least to the interment, but Lee and I are working in the Timpanogos Temple on Fridays. I wish I had kept closer "tabs" on your doings, but isn't that typical? I do get to see Brian and his sweet family once in a while when they visit the "in-laws" in our ward. I'm so sorry; I didn't even know he was ill.
Love, Nancy (for the Alma Mehr Family)

Grandpa, I love you so much. You are such an incredible person. I only knew you near the end of your life, but I have been touched and inspired by your passion for life and your sweet nature. I have so enjoyed showing you magic as you appreciated it so much. I loved playing with you and letting you wrangle my hand into your mouth for a good bite! My favorite memory is when you would hold out your cane and I and the girls would try and run past you and you would try and touch us with the cane to stop us.

I love who you are, Grandpa! To anyone reading this, here is a truly great man, with an attitude for creating anything in life and doing anything he wanted. In his later years when his body began to deteriorate, he never complained and was always grateful. Grandpa, thank you so much for the influence you have had on Alisa, my wife. You are a major part of the reason why she (and her mother) are such incredible people. Until we meet again!

David

I loved my grandpa so much. He was like a second father to me. I loved how he teased us and played with us growing up. I will miss him dearly.
