What a kind sweet man he was. Heber performed my marriage ceremony and was my sunday school teacher-he was very patient with us and I always had a lot of respect for him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Uncle Heber was my father's older brother, whom we all loved and respected. Some of the most memorable times of my childhood were spent with him and Aunt Vinese on their ranch in Levan. We will hold a Trisagion prayer service for Uncle Heber at our Eastern Orthodox Antiochian Mission Church in Davenport, Iowa on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at 5 pm. All are welcome. Prayers will also be said daily for 40 days, as is our custom.
Remember, O Lord, the God of Spirits and of all Flesh, those whom we have remembered, including Heber, and those whom we have not remembered, men of the true faith, from righteous Abel unto to-day; do thou thyself give them rest there in the land of the living, in thy kingdom, in the delight of Paradise, in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, our holy fathers, from whence pain and sorrow and sighing have fled away, where the light of thy countenance visiteth them and always shineth upon them.
The Trisagion Prayers:
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Glory to thee, our God, glory to thee.
O heavenly King, O Comforter, the Spirit of truth, who art in all places and fillest all things; Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come and dwell in us and cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls, O gracious Lord.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal: have mercy on us. (Thrice)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
All-holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse us from our sins. Master, pardon our iniquities. Holy God, visit and heal our infirmities for thy Name's sake.
Lord, have mercy. (Thrice)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and do not allow us to be led into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us, and Heber, and save us. Amen.

I had alot of respect for Heber. He was a kind and caring person and was always honest and straightforward in his dealings. Heber told me he had visited with my grandfather ( Alma Dalby ), at the old Nephi hospital, the night Alma died. That always meant alot to me, knowing someone grandpa knew and respected had been with him that night.
