Helen Moser Obituary

1924 ~ 2017
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Helen Moser passed away at age of 92 on April 1, 2017.
Helen was born August 18, 1924 in Oakley, Utah the daughter of Curt and Genevieve (Hortin) Walton of Oakley. She was raised in Roosevelt and Tremonton, Utah and graduated from Bear River High School and attended the University of Utah studying Business and humanities. Helen married Jim Moser on August 22, 1958 where they made their life and home together in Salt Lake City for almost 40 years until Jim's passing in December of 1995. They looked forward to Thursday nights when they went out and danced to a live 40's Band every week. She had worked for Zions First National Bank in Salt Lake for 35 years in various capacities and was an Assumption Loan Officer upon her retirement.
After Jim and Helen both retired, they bought a fifth-wheel and traveled the States. One of the highlights of the trip was finally getting to The Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Upon returning from this trip they spent the next 10 Winters as 'Snowbirds' in Arizona where they met a lot of old friends and continued to meet new ones from all over the country. Helen met Robert Rogan (whom she previously had known as a friend) and got married again in 2009. Bob passed away in Nov. of 2015.
Helen was an avid Jazz Fan and loved to watch all sports and professional golf. She enjoyed going, occasionally, to Wendover and especially like the Peppermill's slots, Nickle Keno and dining. Family BBQ's, however, held a special place in her heart.
She is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gerald Walton, formally of Roswell, NM. Survivors include her only son Curt Moser of Murray, Utah; Grandsons, Tommy and Angela Moser, Patrick and Jenna Moser; Granddaughters, Kiersten and Ron Deheer, Anette and Bart Barton all of Utah County. As well as her beautiful great-grandchildren Jaidyn, Madisyn, Clay, Kitty, Queenie, Sean, Treva-Zoe, Molly, Camden and Canyon; and sisters, Maurine Joyce of Sandy, Utah and Joanne Lee also of Sandy.
She had lots of wonderful fun times with her best friends Helen Boyer and Audrey Turner and was always fun to be around. Her entertaining interesting conversations covered everything from sports to religion. Helen had a natural effortless class and fashion-her special 'glitter' and love will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She always returned those feelings tenfold to those around her.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 6th and 11:00am at Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 S., in Salt Lake City. Burial will follow at the Oakley City Cemetery, Oakley, Utah where she will be buried next to her soulmate, Jim.
