You were my 2nd mom, I have had 20 fantastic yrs. to laugh with you, shop, temple trips, movies, and all of our road trips together, plus hours on the phone, and the countless dinners you made, I loved it when you would ask me to play the piano for you, to cheer you up. My wife loved you tons,(I'm glad you approved)It meant alot to us to hug you at our sealing, and thanks for always babysitting our kids. You loved us as your family. You have a great family, and I am glad to be Brigs best friend, and be apart of your family over the years.

Jerry and family and the Stapleys -
Jackie is one of the great blessings that have come into my life. She was a terrific older sister in Salisbury. I cherish the memories of the time I spent with her: much song, laughter, fun, and enthusiasm centered around the Gospel, just like life ought to be. I mourn with you for this great temporary loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Clark Richardson

To Jackie's family:
Some of my fondest memories are of the years I spent in BYU Sounds of Freedom. Jackie is such a part of these memories and I am grateful for the wonderful times I had with her. There was no one like her - I never hear "The Way We Were" without hearing that beautiful voice and seeing her in that beautiful blue dress. What a blessing it is to have shared time with her. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

To the Forrest and Stapley Families,
The times I sang in "The Trio" were some of the happiest and blessed moments of my life. Jackie brought a joy to each rehearsal, performance, and just any gathering that lifted me into such a wonderful place, I will always be grateful for that gift!
She had a unique ability to find something special in every person she met, and made them feel special in her eyes. The one thing I always heard in every conversation over the past 30 years was how much she loved her family, Jerry and her children, and how much she loved being the mother of such a beautiful family. She loved with all her heart. I will so miss her phone calls and the times we got together to reminisce. I know Lynne is happy to receive her on the other side and they will be singing the most beautiful duets...'til we meet again. May all feel the loving peace the Lord promises to those that mourn. The Lord bless and keep you.
Love,
Lani Lawrence (Birks)

Dear Jerry,
The sudden passing of one as vibrantly alive as Jackie comes as a stunning shock. I send my heartfelt sympathy to you and the entire family.
I have thought back to our chance meeting in Costco a while back. I was so happy to see you both, and even though it was late, I'm glad we were able to visit for a few minutes.
The two of you are forever etched in my memory in our "Brigadoon" tartans. It was a special experience.
Jackie's endearing qualities made her an example to us all: warm and generous with her friendship, sweet and genuine, witty, animated, talented yet humble and down-to-earth, altoghther lovely, inside and out. I imagine she was recieved on the other side with the commendation, "Well done..."
The Lord said He would not leave us comfortless. One such comfort is the knowledge that families are forever.
With Love and Sincere Condolences, Julie Watson

Dear Jerry & family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jackie's passing. I know the pain you are feeling and the great loss. I wish I could have attended the services. Jackie was so talented and beautiful and she will enhance Heaven with her presence there. My prayers are with you all. Time will heal but not forgotten, and like some one else said, remember the good memories and times, that will help so much.
I wish you all the best of strength that the Lord will provide you with at this time.
I will always remember when Jackie sang at my husband's service. It meant so much to me to hear her beautiful voice sing the gospel messages to our family.
How joyous it will be when we will reunite with them again.

Jerry & Family,
I am so very sad to hear that our dear friend Jackie has passed. You know you are getting older when your own dear friends are on the obit's. Our movie days were my most cherished time with all the girls and our outings through our toughest times. May God bless you with the healing you so desperately need in your home. To lose someone so suddenly is something I have felt closely. The best healing is when you remember all their best times and antics. We love you guys. - The Dreis Family.

Jerry and family, I am still in shock at the news of Jackie's passing, and my heart goes out to all of you. A flood of wonderful memories of our times in Sounds of Freedom and beyond have accompanied me since hearing the news. I keep hearing her absolutely signature performance of "People get ready, there's a train a coming..." and thinking, she may have made her eternal entry with "People get ready...Jackie's coming!" I imagine her and Lynne having an amazing reunion with lots of news to catch up on and much laughter and many tears shared. The only thing bigger than Jackie's magnificent talent and voice was her heart. She was a great friend and really brought light and life to every occasion, from her performing to her interactions one-on-one. And above all, she loved her family and was so proud of every one of you and loved to express how much she loved you. I hope you will cherish your memories and the good times even more as you continue to feel her presence in your lives (she will not be far away!) and look forward to reuniting with her as an eternal family. You know she will prepare a fabulous welcome for each and every one of you. Thank you for sharing her with all of us in so many significant ways. She will continue to be a shining star in our memories and in our hearts. May our Father sustain you and strengthen you and may God be with you until you meet again. With love, Karen J.

Dear Jerry and Family,
It was such a shock to us to hear of Jackie’s death. What a darling she was… one in a million! There are things that will always remind us of her: “One Tin Soldier,” “On the Boardwalk,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade” (or anything else Barbra Striesand sang!) We remember many tours with her where she and the other girls in the “trio” came dressed in matching clothes they had stayed up all night to make so they could pretend to be our stewardesses (and then they entertained us off and on for the rest of the tour!) We all used to tease her about how she looked before her makeup was on and that it took “two hours” to get her face on, but nobody cleaned up better! She was always the last one to the bus… but sooo worth waiting for! Everything was better with Jackie around. The jokes were funnier, the music was more beautiful, the show was dazzling, the spirit was stronger, and there was always love to go around and some to spare. We send our deepest regrets for your loss and pray for you to be comforted every moment as you go through the next few days…weeks…years.
All our love,
Jim and Gayle (Bush) Workman and Family

I absolutely love Jackie and can not believe that I will never hear her voice again. I was privileged to be one of her BYU roommates and had so much fun with her especially when I had her perform just for me. I use to laugh when she answered the door with a towel around her head to cover the fact she hadn't fixed her hair and told people she just got out of the shower.

Jerry and family,
We are saddened to hear of Jackie’s passing, yet we know that there is a special place prepared for her in Heaven. She first captured our hearts in Zimbabwe with her great singing voice while touring with the BYU Sounds of Freedom during the mid seventies. We really got to know her when she returned to live in Harare. She made a great impression on our family and will be missed by so many of us that have been touched by her acts of kindness and her wonderful musical renditions. Our thoughts are with you Jerry and your family, to whom we express our sincere condolences.

Jerry and family, I was in shock when Wendy told me that Jackie had died. She was always so nice and thoughtfull just like Joyce. I still remember when she bought me a birthday present and brought it to the multi-family birthday party that Wendy Stapley always holds. I was really touched because I have a hard enough time remebering to get my own brothers and sisters birthday presents let alone my brother's, brother-in-law.
She will be missed by all.

Jerry and Family,
Words cannot express how sad I am to hear of Jackies death. Jackie was a one of a kind. She could always make me laugh, could speak in that Scottish accent doing her best "angry scottsman", never tired of being out late after a gig just to talk, and always showed genuine careing and concern for others. I could always count on spending an hour (or more)on the phone with her talking about everything and everyone in my family and in the Cads. I will always remember her great talent and natural abilities on stage. Performing with her was a great and cherished experience. She was the one who pushed to get me an audition with the Cads and I will always be indebted to her for that. Jackie was a great friend and there will always be a place in my heart that only Jackie could fill. Till our voices join together again.
