Jo Smart Obituary

Jo Stevenson Smart 3/28/1947~2/20/2003  A very special person passed away on February 20, 2003. Jo Ellen Stevenson Smart was 55 and died unexpectedly at the LDS Hospital leaving a legacy of service and love behind. Born March 28, 1947 in Salt Lake City to Fred Hales and June Lorraine Lund Stevenson. Married November 26, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple to Paul Floyd Smart. Graduated from BYU. Taught at Riley Elementary, where she loved helping those that needed extra attention. Faithful member of the LDS Church having served diligently in every female organization, often in leadership capacities. Also loved music and crafts. Was also known for her cooking abilities. Survived by husband; children Kathie Jo (Matt) Cherrington and Aaron Smart; mother; brothers Gary (Colleen) and Randy (RaNae); sisters Kathy (Don) Cash, Ginny (Owen) Johnson, Tina (Kerry) Camomile; and granddaughters Harlie and Austyn that she adored. Funeral services to be held Monday at 12 noon at the Draper Utah Corner Canyon Stake Center, 13366 S. 1300 E., Draper. Viewing Sunday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and Monday, 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
