John Wendell Skinner

John Wendell Skinner 1914 ~ 2004 LEHI - Our loving husband, father and grandfather, John Wendell Skinner, age 90, passed away June 7, 2004 at the American Fork Hospital.  He was born May 3, 1914 in Soda Springs, Idaho, to John J. and Elsie Irene Skinner. He married and was sealed to Delia Annette Street on Nov. 14, 1935. She passed away Sept. 27, 1992. Married Colleen Christensen on May 19, 1993. Dad was blessed with many talents and abilities among which was being an excellent auto mechanic. He had a great love for his fellow men and lived a life full of service. Endless lives were touched by his love and service. The guiding force in his life was his testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was faithful and valiant to the end. Although our sorrow is great, our hearts are full of joy with the knowledge we have of the plan of salvation. Survived by his daughters, Joyce (Paul) Smith; Jean (Richard) Watts; Gail (Neal) Iund; Joan (Rick) Gilbert; and a son, Brent (LaRue) Skinner; 41 loving grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; Colleen's children, Caroleen (Roger) Chamberlain; Jay (Cheryl) Christensen; Christine (John) Beck; Julie (Craig) Park; Pattie (Grady) Southwick; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a loving wife and mother, Delia; daughters, Colleen Brown, Shirley and her husband Henry Havilla; a son, Blaine Skinner; and two grandchildren, Annette Brown and Todd Skinner. Funeral services will be Friday, June 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi East Stake Center, 1200 E. 851 N. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City  Cemetery.
