- Our beloved son, Jonathan Samuel Panson lost an almost 12-year battle with brain cancer, in the bottom of the 9th inning, he went down swinging on March 18, 2022 in Forney, Texas.

Jon was born September 17, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Murray High School in 1994 and lived much of his life in northern Utah, and in 2019 moved to Texas to be closer to family.

Jon's work in sales led him to find that he had a passion for gourmet food. He had great taste and he loved his work and loved the people he worked with and the friends he found.

Jon loved baseball, from the Salt Lake Bees to his beloved Boston Red Sox and cheered them on until the end. We are sure he's somewhere waiting for the 7th inning stretch to sing "Sweet Caroline". He was a lifelong Utah Jazz fan, and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan long before they signed Tom Brady.

He grew up scouting and camping with family and friends. His hobbies were photography and wood working and if his dad was in the garage working on something, Jon was right beside him. He could fix things and loved it, and as a child he would take something apart just to put it back together.

Any time he was with his siblings, it was comedy central as they became adults and found they shared the same dry sense of humor. Even though he never had children of his own, he loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews, and cheered them on, even if from a distance.

Survived by his parents Stephen and Martee Panson, Forney, Texas, brother Mike and wife Stefan Panson (Washington, UT) and sister Jill and Donald Childs (Van, Texas) and six nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 30th at 3:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
