Keith Shanley Obituary

Keith Jerald Shanley, 75, passed away in his home on March 15, 2016. Born in Callaway Nebraska in 1941, the son of Keith and Viola (Gates) Shanley. He was a lifelong resident of West Valley City Utah.
In his early years he had a passion for racing super modified cars at the county Fairgrounds and Bonneville Raceway. Later in life he worked as a mechanic and a truck driver. He retired in 2007. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing in the Uintas and he loved to travel whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda (Hover) Shanley, his sister Lorraine Cameron and her husband Denton, his two children; Laura Moore her husband Tim, Kevin Shanley and his wife Lauren, three step-children; Greg Abbot, John Abbott and his wife Sherri, Lori Bangerter and her husband Brad, 11 grandchildren: Taylor Abbot, Haylie Abbott, Maddie Abbott, Mason Abbott, Wyatt Abbott, Emily Woltkamp, Isabella Bangerter, Austin Bangerter, Bradley Bangerter, Kyle Shanley and Jessica Shanley, and two great grandchildren; Rocky Slade and Alexis Slade, two dogs; Shilo and Sadie, and seven fish.
A reception will be held on Saturday March 19, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
