Kevin Kirkpatrick Obituary

Kevin Lee Kirkpatrick 1964 ~ 2007 Kevin Lee Kirkpatrick, age 43, returned to Heaven's loving arms on December 9, 2007, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage to the brainstem. Our beloved son, father, brother, husband, friend and grandpa will be missed and remembered always for his big heart and tender soul. Kevin was born February 15, 1964 in Bountiful, Utah, the son of Dr. Michael K. and Jacquelin French Kirkpatrick (deceased) and Marged Ashton Kirkpatrick. He married Nancy Wabel in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 25, 1984. They shared four beautiful children, Krystal, Kacie, Kylee and Kody. After their divorce he found the love of his life, Lisa Staples Hill and they were married on November 6, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kevin graduated from Skyline High School and was a leader in student government, DECCA, football and wrestling. He was awarded a scholarship in marketing to Weber State University. He received his Eagle Scout Award and was later called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he eagerly began his career in retail, he was a Senior Buyer for Nordstrom Shoes in Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Chicago and Salt Lake City. He built friendships along the way that are still enduring. Later he became a Regional Manager for Aerosol Shoe Co. Seven years ago, Kevin began a new career in Landscaping and started his own company where he made the earth a more beautiful place to be. His customers were loyal because of his hard work and expertise. He always took time to befriend and reach out to others. Preceded in death by: his mother, Jacquelin French Kirkpatrick; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Kirkpatrick of Baytown, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. French, of Salt Lake City. Survived by: his wife, Lisa Staples Hill Kirkpatrick; children, Krystal Marie, Kacie Kae (Travis) Quinn, Kylee Korin, and Kody Lee JJ Kirkpatrick; stepchildren, Zachary Ryan Hill, Malissa Kaye (Christopher) Tisdale, Jackson James Hill; granddaughter, Skylee Rae Hill (Ashlee Parry); parents, Dr. Michael and Marged Ashton Kirkpatrick; sister, Kimberly Kirkpatrick; and his dear Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and In-laws. Kevin loved the outdoors, food, dancing, golf, U of U tailgating and chillin with his friends at Maggies and loved singing Karaoke. He loved cars and could fix anything. He rushed to the aide of those in need always with a smile, laughter and a Big Kev Hug. Kevin loves his children; they will always be his babies and will watch over them with his loving eyes. We love you and miss you, have fun in Heaven. A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mountain View, 3115 East 7800 South. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 14, at the Holladay 26th Ward 4601 South 2565 East, Holladay, Utah at 12:00 noon with a viewing from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kevin Kirkpatrick Memorial Fund at any branch of Wells Fargo Bank.

Remembering Kevin,
Our thoughts of Kevin brings to mind a song often performed by his mother in the comforting words of the Savior, which I hope will be a consolation to all whom he loved.
"IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE ARE MANY MANSIONS"
(Music By: James MacDermid Text: John 14:22-24)
Peace I leave with you my peace I give unto you:
Not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
In my father's house are many mansions,
In my father's house are many mansions:
If it were not so I would have told you,
I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto my self:
That where I am ye may be also,
That where I am ye may be also;
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
In my father's house are many mansions,
In my father's house are many mansions:
If it were not so I would have told you,
I go to prepare a place for you.
Peace I leave with you my peace I give unto you.

Mike, Marged and Kim,
Kevin had a big heart and a big smile. My enduring memory of him will be the proverbial "Big Man on Campus." One of my favorite memories as a young adult was riding in his 1968 convertible camero. I think we were going to K-Mart to pick up something for Jackie, but it was still cool. We will miss him. We love you all. Jared, Debbie, Katie, Olivia, Hannah and Logan Spackman

Kevin's parents are our neighbors but we didn't really get to know Kevin until we ran into him at a Utes football game tailgate (against BYU - 2004). The girls painted Kevin's face red and white and we all had a wonderful time beating BYU. We also spent time with Kevin in Tempe for New Year's Eve and the Fiesta Bowl... the Utes won again. In the short time we knew Kevin, he was always pleasant, fun-loving, and a diehard fan. He will be missed.

Sweet Kevin K.... My dearest friend. This has been a very heartbreaking shock for myself and all the many others who love you so much. Our friendship never faded through the many years we have spent together. The endless nights of karaoke and chit- chatting on the front porch. I recall forcing you to take on my love of karaoke in the beginning and that you couldn't be stopped at any chance to sing in the end. I recall in our recent chat that you referred to yourself as "Kevin the Kalli Karaoke Understudy" I laughed so hard. I will miss that great loving smile you always had for me and your fantastic squeezes. You will always be my best friend. My best gal pal that isn't so gal!!! I am still at such a loss knowing you will have to give the shout outs from heaven. I do however know you are in a better place and singing your heart out for all of us here. Kev, can you put in a good word for your Kallikal? Think I may need it if I want to visit you some day. I know you will be busy watching over your beautiful daughters and your mini'Kev ... Kody! I know how much you love them all. You have a heart of gold and we are all lucky to have been apart of it. You are greatly missed my friend, but never ever to be forgotten! To all of your loved ones I send my deepest sympathies and hope that the wonderful memories of you will be comfort to them. See you on the other side suga. Keep the microphones warm. Love you!
