Lawrence RoyBriggs 1914 ~ 2003  SYRACUSE - Lawrence Roy Briggs, 89, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 7, 2003, of natural causes. He was a successful farmer, cattleman and a prominent leader in the community. Lawrence was born Jan 1, 1914 in Syracuse, UT. He was the oldest of five children born to Thomas Roy Briggs and Hattie Ann Manning. Following his graduation from Davis High School, he served an LDS mission to St. Louis, MO. (15 years); a director of Davis County Farm Bureau; as director, and later president of the Ogden Area Beef Feeders Assn. He served several years as Syracuse City Councilman, and a director of the Davis County Industrial Bureau. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving various positions including bishop and High Priest Group Leader, always looking for opportunities to be a missionary to his fellow man. A Child's Tribute

Good 'n Plenty, kisses and hugs,

All the things a child loves.

Sweet cologne, farm Septembers,

All the scents a child remembers.

Smiles, laughs, stories too,

All the tales a child believed to be true.

Grits, Mince Meat, burnt toast was best,

All the foods a child refused to digest!

In his chair, he watched his tv,

All such perfect memories.

Hay forts, good food, Hearts, and love,

Ol' Gramps has gone fishing in the heavens above.

I love you Grandpa. We'll join you soon.
