Leda Foster Obituary
Bryce, Utah
Leda Mae Davis Foster, 79, returned to our Heavenly Father on June 2, 2015 at her home at Foster's. She was welcomed by her loving husband, Al; parents, William Leslie and Minnie Jane Davis; and sister, Bonnie Lou Smith.
She was born October 23, 1935 in Escalante in a small little house, and was delivered by a mid-wife whom they called Aunt Susan. Leda Mae married Alfred Lee Foster on August 7, 1956 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was solemnized in the Saint George LDS Temple on March 12, 1966. He preceded her in death, December 6, 2013.
Leda Mae attended schools in Escalante and received a business degree from BYU. She and Al became business owners of Foster's in Tropic, Utah, where they ran a successful business. Later, they moved their business up by Bryce Canyon National Park where the enterprise has grown to include a restaurant, store and motel. Today the legacy of Al and Leda Mae is continuing through their children and grandchildren.
Leda Mae was a people person and enjoyed greeting all of the customers as they entered the store. People from all over the world still talk of coming to Foster's and having "Lee" wait on them.
She is survived by her children: Michelle (Danny) Perkins, Panguitch; Alfred (Toni) Foster, Tropic; and Neil (Susan) Foster, Bryce Canyon City; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Viewing, graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Widtsoe Cemetery, as requested by Leda Mae. Friends are welcome to come greet the family at the cemetery from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Leda Mae was one of my best friends in High School and also a college roommate. She was always so much fun and a true friend. I'm happy, she is out of her pain and suffering. Condolences to her family.
