Lida Karnam Obituary

Lida Karnam 1967 ~ 2003  My beloved wife, companion, and friend, Lida Karnam passed away suddenly on September 11, 2003. Lida was born on 29th of April, 1967 in Iran. Due to religious persecution of Baha'is, she moved to  the United States and attained a nursing degree which was her dream since the death of a brother from leukemia.  After graduation she moved to Florida.  There she met her beloved husband, Umaprasanna Karnam. Since then they shared the most wonderful years of their lives.  They were married in 2001 and moved to Utah. She is remembered as being uniquely compassionate, loving, caring and having a good sense of humor. She is survived by her husband, Umaprasanna Karnam, M.D., her brothers, Houshang and Farhoud, sister Shamsay, and cousins, Sholeh, Rana, and Ramin. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother. The family would like to thank all their wonderful friends and neighbors for their time and support , especially The  Spiritual Assembly of Utah and the Baha'i Community.    Lida was interned on Sept 13, 2003 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, SLC Utah.

Dearest Dr. Karnam:

Words cannot express what you must be feeling right now. I am so sorry for your loss. Although I didn't get to know Mrs. Karnam as well as I would have liked too, the few times we spent together were very nice. She was a quiet person, very shy, and so innocent.

You have done so much for me in helping me with my health problems, and I'm sure you've also been a mentor and inspiration to others as well. You're the last person that deserves to feel this kind of pain.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My family and I will keep you in our prayers.

Take care, and please call us if you need anything at all.
