Lorraine May Bush, 87, passed away peacefully Monday morning in her daughter and son-in-law's home in Oakland, California. Lorraine (Born: Lorain May Mary Kennedy) was born on November 13, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Elizabeth Marian Moyer Kennedy and John Donald Kennedy. She was raised in Salt Lake City with her younger brothers, Edwin and Ronald.
As a teenager with a love of music and dancing, Lorraine was actively involved in TANK (Teenage Night Klub) at the YWCA in Salt Lake City.
On December 29, 1950 Lorraine married Jack Charles Bush, and they had three children Penny, Pam, and Jack. Jack & Lorraine ran and operated Jack Bush Tire Service, from the old Murray Jail House. Lorraine's hard work ethic and skills at anything she put her mind to was an amazing asset to both keeping their house in top form, and helping run the family business. She was a "team player" in every sense of the phrase. Lorraine was the kindest person one could come across. She was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. She was creative, resourceful, hardworking, and strong. She was an amazing wife, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, friend, and all-around citizen.
Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Penny L. Bush, & Pamela M. Brawley (Sanford), and son, Jack A. Bush (Wendy P.); three grandchildren, Luke J. Siddoway (Dodie M.), Marc A. Brawley (Chelsea B.) and Heather B. Brawley; & four great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Jack, mother Elizabeth Moore, father John, step-father ("Dad") Denny Moore, and brothers Eddie and Ronnie.
Lorraine was the kindest soul we had ever met, and we know she's now dancing again.
Family and Friends are invited to the viewing and funeral services on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah from 10:00 to 10:45 AM followed by an 11:00 AM graveside service at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 So.
