Mable Amelia Korn 1912 ~ 2007 Mable Amelia Korn, age 95, passed away July 24, 2007 in Salt Lake City. She was born in Salt Lake City on May 28, 1912 to Julius Korn and Mary M. Ruesch Korn. Mable Korn is survived by her loving nieces Mary Ellen Jennings, of Idaho, and Maurine Despain of Salt Lake City; six great nieces and nephews and 10 great-great nieces and nephews. I was in Miss Korn's 4th grade class at Columbus Elementary School. She attended by 80th birthday celebration just last Monday and visited with some of her students that also attended.

Miss Korn was my 4th Grade teacher at Columbus Elementary 70 years ago. She came to my 80th birthday party just last Monday and she looked as sharp as ever. We will always be grateful for our long association with her.

My name is Dana Thatcher. Our family purchased Mabel's cabin 7 years ago. What an amazing woman! We visited with her earlier this spring and were still amazed at her sharp mind and excellent physical condition. The day we bought the cabin she told my husband she wanted to take him under the cabin to show him how to winterize the water lines. She bent down effortlessly - my husband and I looked at each other and went "wow". She was amazing. When people ask where our cabin is we ask them if they knew Mabel. They always say "everyone knows Mabel". It will never be the Thatcher cabin - it will always be known as the Korn cabin. We have a map of Skyline Mountain Resort for guests coming up to stay and the Korn Cabin is the only cabin noted on the map - Mabel was and is a historic landmark at Skyline Mountain Resort. We will miss our friend.

Miss Korn was my 6th grade teacher at Beacon Heights Elementary School. I remember that she brought her 2 german shepard dogs on field day. She was an inspiration to me and I send my condolences to her family at this time.
Sincerly;
