Mariel Huff Obituary

Mariel Jean Mellor Huff "Jeannie" 11/14/39 ~ 3/29/07 Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away in Bountiful on Thursday, March 29, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 14th, 1939 in Springville, Utah to Wilford and Ilene Mellor. She married Ralph "Joe" Huff on October 17th, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jeannie loved serving in the temple and in her church callings. She was very involved in scouting, receiving a Silver Beaver Award and Stone Award, as well as district awards of merit. Jeannie was a very kind, caring, and loving person who was a great influence on the lives of many, especially children, who she served unceasingly through her volunteer work at area elementary schools as a home-room mother and reading tutor. She is survived by her loving husband Joe; four children Matthew (Kamilyn) Huff, Tara (Dave) Cutts, Audra (Frank) Barrett, and Ryan Huff; her brother Neil Mellor and sister Nancy Broadhead; and her grandchildren Daylon and Savanna. Her family wishes to give special thanks to her nephew Russell Mellor, and Joy and Madison Facer, as well as others in her extended family, and members of the Bountiful 36th Ward. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Bountiful 36th Ward Chapel, 102 E. 1400 S. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Monday morning 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. To The Huff Family,

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. Although I did not know Sister Huff, I had the great privilege of being Ryan's bishop in the Millstream Ward. His love for his mother, and the testimony he conveyed of the reality of Christ's role in making families eternal, was wonderful. Please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss, and the knowledge that it is but a temporary parting.
