Mark Thomas Obituary

Mark Bradley Thomas

1962 - 2021

Ogden, UT—Mark Bradley Thomas, 58, died May 19, 2021, surrounded by his children. He was born on Nov 15, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Raymond Earl Thomas and Joyce Holbrook Thomas.

He is survived by his parents as well as his 5 siblings: Matt (Mindy), Sally (Kirk), Connie (Tony), Gary (Nicole), Jeff (Lisa); His 3 children: NaKeisha (Nathan), Brenner, Makaeden; His 4 grandchildren: MaKendry, McKyson, Taitum, Beckham; and many nieces and nephews.

He attended Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah where he served as Sophomore Class President. He served an LDS Mission in Dallas, TX from May 1983- Nov 1984. While he was serving he was blessed to be a host of the new Dallas Temple that had just been completed. He always spoke fondly of his time serving the people of Texas and of the lifelong friendships he made during his time there.

He loved serving his community for almost 20 years as a volunteer firefighter for Farmington Fire Department, where he was promoted to Lieutenant.

He also enjoyed his career as a professional truck driver for over 30 years. The last 19 years he drove for Saia LTL Freight, where he drove over 5 million accident-free miles. He pulled a triple (3 trailers) and he was the best of the best.

Mark could play the piano like a true musician, although he never did learn to read music. His ability to hear music and play by ear was astounding. He enjoyed gardening and took so much pride in always making sure his yard looked pristine. He was always so excited when Spring rolled around so he could start planting and making his yard beautiful again. He was frequently known to help his neighbors mow their lawn or remove their snow without ever being asked. He was also a fantastic handy man and could fix anything.

Our dad was an amazing person and we will miss him more than he could ever possibly know. He lived for his children and especially his grandchildren, who affectionately call him "Papa Mark". He absolutely loved being a grandpa and he spoiled those kids.

He was the life of the party and could always get everyone rolling with his quick humor. His laugh was contagious and when he would show it- he had the BEST smile!! He told the best stories too! Nobody could ever tell them the way he did. He would be laughing so hard he could hardly finish his story which always had everyone else laughing too.

He could make friends anywhere he went. There were so many times he'd be chatting with someone at the grocery store like they were best friends. When we would leave, we would ask who they were and he'd tell us he had no idea! He had so many close friends as well though and he talked about them often.

He was always trying to make sure people knew how loved they were. He was "TikTok famous" as he called it. He was so proud of his TikTok page, where he called himself the TikTok Dad. He had almost 40K followers and would always jokingly brag to us about how famous he was. He shared messages of hope, love, happiness and living life to the fullest. He was passionate about spreading domestic violence awareness with his platform as well. His TikTok is @luvinyouforever.

We hope his legacy will continue to live on! He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. He has left a hole that will never be able to be filled.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Mortuary 295 N Main St Bountiful, UT and from 9:30-10:30 at the LDS Church House at 1356 N 650 E, Bountiful, UT. A celebration of his life will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.

Services will be live streamed on the Facebook group: ""Mark B. Thomas Memorial"".

I just heard about Mark's passing and I'm shocked. He was such an alive person and we had wonderful, crazy times when he was a kid. He just visited my husband, his tax accountant and was doing fine. I will treasure many a memory of him. I'm sure he's in heaven visiting my mom Tamyrra Vowles who passed in July 2020. They would have many a story to recall. Good-bye Mark.

My deepest condolences, I lost touch with Mark after High School. However, as mentioned in the obituary he was full of fun and laughter. I still remember the fun times we had at school.

I was so saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I met him through TikTok, and he honestly saved me. I will still, in honor of him, look at myself in the mirror every morning and night and say, "I'm important, and I matter." Something he told me to do everyday until I believed it. Thanks to him, I believe it now and know my worth. I will forever miss him.

I was Mark's boss at SAIA and he was a very distinguished man. I could always count on Mark. I married Shannon Hartle and heard many a story of Mark. I enjoyed Mark as a good friend. I find it interesting that next door neighbor's passed so close Shannon passed may 9th. She also had a fondness for Mark.
