Marsha Jensen Hall
1943-2024
Marsha Jensen Hall was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 16, 1943, to Blaine Jaris Jensen and Helen June Watts Jensen and passed away August 16, 2024, at the age of 81 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Marsha graduated from Murray High School in 1961 and furthered her education at BYU.
She married Daniel Charles Hall on September 24, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple. Marsha's career in education was a series of steps - she worked at Hillcrest Junior High, Murray High School and eventually retired from the State Office of Education in January 2005. Many students who attended the schools she worked in came to affectionately call her mom.
Marsha was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings.
Marsha loved spending time with her family. She would go where they did whether it be camping, parties, Friday dinners, ball games, plays, concerts, ballroom dance performances or graduations.
She had a passion for crafts and could often be found picking out material at QUILTS ETC. She spent hours cutting strips and sewing quilts for her family. She learned and mastered the art of Tatting. She was never without her Tatting shuttle. If she was watching TV or any of the other activities that her family was involved in, her hands were always moving. She loved handing out hundreds of tatted bookmarks over the years; every nurse and doctor received one during her cancer treatments.
She was a big sports fan and would follow the National Football League and the Utah Jazz seasons. She would also support the college teams where her grandchildren were attending. This was no small task as the kids were spread out all over the country and often attended rival schools. Some of her favorite things, which she called her vices, were Dr. Pepper, Almond Joy candy bars, purchasing fabric that she "would eventually use", cute pajamas, books and John Wayne movies. Her favorite place was Ruby Valley, Nevada or her sewing room.
Marsha is a Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Holly Timmins-Terry who pushed for one more test that discovered the cancer and to Dr. Rachel Hu who developed a successful treatment plan. We are grateful to them for the additional years she and her family enjoyed.
Marsha is survived by her loving family: sons Blaine (Carla) and Richard (Carol), daughter Linda (Michael); grandchildren (who were her greatest joy): Alexander (Madison), Henry (Karina), Emily, Eli, Spencer (Kara), Sarah, Michael, and Johnathan, and great-grandson Cooper. Stepson Michael (Lisa), and stepdaughter Danele (Michael); and siblings: Lynn (Maryann), Kent (Cherry), Ron (Marlene), and Claudia (Larry).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine and June Jensen, her husband of 40 years Daniel Hall, and stepdaughter-in-law, Lisa Hall
Her faith and testimony, love, laughter and positivity even in the toughest of times will forever be in the hearts of her family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11 a.m., viewings Friday, August 30, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. and August 31, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. All services will be held at the LDS chapel 8117 S.
