Karen,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. Even though we didn't keep in touch over the years, I never forgot your friendship and the fun memories of you and Mike, Sonny and I. We were so young and had great times together.
I pray that God will hold you in the palm of his hand to heal and comfort you through this time.

We can take comfort in the fact that every spirit exists in another place. God created the world for mortal inhabitants and the heavens for our immortal existence. Mike has passed into that beautiful immortal place we know as heaven, guided by a great light and carried up by God’s messengers, Angels.
Mike was a good man while on this earth and he will be even greater in heaven. Also know that the light Mike shown while on this earth touched many, take comfort in the fact that it continues to touch us mortals and that it shall shine even brighter from heaven.
O Lord, hear my prayer!
Almighty God, who by the birth of thy holy child, Jesus hast given us a great light to dawn upon our darkness. Grant, we pray thee that in His light, we may see light. Bestow upon us, we beseech thee, that most excellent gift to all men, as you have set forth as examples through good men you have placed on this earth, that so the likeness of thy Son may be formed in us and around us, that we may have the ever brightening hope of everlasting life.
Comfort this family as we grieve over the loss of this mortal being and in turn, give us great joy in knowing that you have now taken his immortal spirit into heaven, that he Mike Jacobsen, will now dwell in the house of the Lord thy God, forever and ever. O God, be gracious unto us all and strengthen this family’s faith in our sadness.
All this, I pray in your holy name Lord God, through your son Jesus Christ and in the name of the Holy Spirit; One God Now and Forever. Amen.
Good by for now old friend. We will miss you, until we meet again.

Mike touched so many, many people. He truly set the bar high, gladly gave you 4 and 3, would win anyway, and still pick up the first round! I'll miss him. I won't forget him. My deepest sympathies.

Karen and family, Since Mike lit the lamp of love in our hearts it continues to shine forever. That love still exists. I am so honored to have known him and loved and been loved by him. I am so sorry Karen (and family) that he is not still here in the physical world. It's such a longing to have him back. We can continue to love him by our everyday actions here in the world. I love you. That is the message he brought. Love is all there is. (I am in Germany so please celebrate him for me this weekend)
