I´m so sorry to be so far behind the passage of time! Yesterday I got out one of Paul´s books to reread. Today I looked for him on line-wondering if he still taught at Weber. I just want to say what a great teacher and mentor he was for my time at Weber! So sorry I didn´t think to look him up long ago, but remembering his teaching, reading and writing skills that meant so much to me. Best wishes.

To know Paul was to love him! I had the privilege of working with him, teaching, in Montezuma Creek. He was well respected being nominated teacher of the year by his peers more than once. He was a mentor to our staff teaching teachers how to run a writing program. Later, I was lucky to take a class from him through Weber on teaching writing. That included his sharing of children's literature.
His book, "Racing the Sun," was a favorite read aloud in my classroom.
Besides owning 2 of his novels, I have a couple handmade books he wrote using pictures from movie clips with humorous captions capturing the joys of teaching. I loved his humor and his humbleness. I'm sure he touched many lives in the way he touched mine I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
My condolences to his family and friends.

My dear friend Paul, you gave and you gave. You shared your love of people through your teaching and by your example of a kind and caring person. So many of us were the recipient of your knowledge but most of all, we were the recipient of your caring and gentle nature. It is with tears that I say good-by , for a moment. My sincerest condolences go out to your family.

Professor Pitts was one of my favorite professors at Weber State Elementary. He taught my language arts course and was the most kind, gentle teacher. He modeled for his students what a teacher should be like. I will always remember when he read children's stories to us (he introduced me to Keven Henkes. Professor Pits wrote a letter of recommendation for me when I graduated from WSU. I respected and loved him immensely!
