Ray Gines Obituary

Ray Clegg Gines
1921 ~ 2015
Ray Clegg Gines, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on May 23, 2015 in Salt Lake City, after spending a few days with his family close to him. He and Mom created a legacy that will last for eternity. He loved his time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ray was born July 18, 1921, to Afton and Pryscilla Clegg in Tabiona, Utah and was raised in Woodland, Utah. After losing his father to cancer at a young age, Ray and his siblings helped his mother, Pryscilla, raise the family together. He proudly served in the military during World War II. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various callings. He retired from Chevron Oil Company where he worked as an engineer for 30 years. He accomplished much in his life, but he valued his marriage to Mom the most.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Elaine; Children Bert (Johanna), Keith (Jolene), Paul (Lynette), 19 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death; children Lee and JoAnn McNeal.
"Grandpa will be greatly missed by so many."
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Parrish Heights Ward, 610 North Rowland Way, Centerville, Utah. Friends and family may attend a viewing Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Keith, and the entire Gines family. I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you be comforted with peace, and love of his memories and special spirit during this time. His legacy clearly lives on in his children. I have had the pleasure of working with his son Keith Gines. I am sure his fathers lessons, and work ethic were passed on through an exceptional example as it sounds like his father was. In working with Keith he is a kind, patient, and a has wonderful sense of humor. Bless your family during this time and always. -Stephanie Murray co-worker OC Tanner

I'm a good friend of Edith Hartman's She told me Ray was in a coma before she left for Park City. I am so sorry for your loss. I know Ray was very ill and in a lot of pain. For that reason I'm glad he is with our Father in Heaven. I lost my husband 10 years ago I know how it is to have our sweetheart taken away from us. Thank goodness for our beliefs in the here after. We will be with our darlings before long. Elaine I send my deepest sympathies may God bless you and your family through these hard times. My prayers are with you.
