Raymond Anderton Obituary

Raymond Anderton
2003 ~ 2015
Roosevelt, UT-Raymond Chase Anderton, age 12, passed away on June 22, 2015, at his home.
He was born February 8, 2003, in Missoula, Montana, to Christopher Ray and Leslee Anne Holbrook Anderton.
Ray was a fun-loving, hardworking kid, who made friends wherever he went. He was passionate about many things in his life that included baseball, golf, scouts, boating in Lake Powell and cars. He was on the Roosevelt Strike baseball team and had been selected to be part of the All-Star team for the 3rd year in a row. He was also on the Junior PGA golf team. His love of cars came from his dad and Ray could tell you about almost every car on the road. The highlight of his life came just a few months ago when he was able to go with his dad to the 44th annual Barrett-Jackson Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona where Ron Pratte's entire collection was being sold. There he met Ron Pratte, Jeff Gordon, Rick Hendrick, and made a special connection with Don Prudhomme who is one of the best drag racers in the world. He was even able to be on the podium with Don while the only Carroll Shelby Super Snake was being auctioned.
Ray was always trying to make a buck or be the boss. He enjoyed working at the Frontier Grill - the family business- and with his grandpa in Bountiful at their printing business. He was a collector of money and coins, and was an avid reader and journal writer. In school, he was a straight A student - his favorite subject being history.
He was dearly loved by his family, and his friendly, courteous and persistent personality will be deeply missed.
As Ray would always say, "You Got This!"
Ray is survived by his parents, Leslee and Chris Anderton; sisters, Amelia "Millie" and Claire Anderton, all of Roosevelt; his grandparents, Melody & Allen Markus, West Valley City; Gordon & Lynda Holbrook, Bountiful; aunts and uncles, Brandt Holbrook (Gina Seitz); Jana (Kevin) Eubank; Chase (Jessica) Holbrook; Zackery Anderton; Taylor Markus (Cami Ewell); great-grandparents, Farris "Pinky" & Steve Bennett; and numerous cousins, and great-aunts and -uncles.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, A. Jerry & Renee Samuelsen; David J. & Dorothea Holbrook; and Raymond & Peggy Anderton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt West Stake Center, 50 South Skyline Drive where the viewings will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made at any Zion's Bank. Condolences may be shared at www.hullingermortuary.com

I am so sorry that I missed the funeral. We were out of town when Raymond died. I just wanted you to know what a light he was to me this past spring. In the RJHS March Madness Reading Contest, Raymond really became a leader. He was so enthusiastic and excited that he encouraged his class to a third place class finish in just one week. He was so fun; I loved seeing him when he asked for every update. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with your family.

You may not remember me but I was Ray's second grade teacher at East Elementary. He was such a joy to our class and gave us many moments of laughter and fun! I appreciated his quick wit, kind heart, intelligent mind, and the fantastic stories he could tell! He loved sharing adventures about being on the boat on Lake Powell with his family and his grandpa or doing dishes at the restaurant. I am heartbroken for you, his family, as I know he adored each one of you, and loved and protected his sisters. Thank you for sharing your wonderful son with me/us. I know you are very loving, supportive, caring parents and my heart goes out to you and all your family.
