1930 ~ 2016
American Fork, UT-Reed W Jensen, died peacefully in his home in American Fork, Utah on June 30, 2016.
He was born August 21, 1930, in Rupert, Idaho, to Howard Burdell Jensen and Lola Wilcox Jensen. He was the oldest and only brother to three younger sisters, Lucille, Loretta and Colleen. He was raised on a farm in Heyburn, graduated from Heyburn High School and attended Brigham Young University. He enjoyed playing sports, singing in choirs and playing his saxophone in a dance band. He sang many solos throughout his life, with his last at age 84 in an Easter service in his ward.
Reed married Elsie Norene Griffin on August 21, 1950, in the Logan Utah Temple; she passed away March 18, 1986. They were the parents of Larry, Randy, Joyce, Lloyd, Eileen, and Bradley. Reed had a milk route for Challenge Dairy and farmed raising sugar beets for 30 years in Heyburn, Paul and Hazelton. He was also involved in domestic beaver ranching for a number of years with his uncle Dean. He was active in community choirs, performed in plays and musicals, and served faithfully in many callings in the LDS church.
He married Laurel Rae Dickinson on August 23, 1986 in the Jordan River Temple. They lived in Idaho until September 2002, when they moved to American Fork, Utah. Laurel and Reed served five full-time missions, as well as two part-time missions in the Conference Center and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. They also served in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple.
Reed is survived by his wife Laurel Jensen; his six children, Larry (Pam), Randy (Julie), Joyce (Brent) Reddekopp, Lloyd (Kristi), Eileen (Scott) Lynsky, and Bradley (Jillian); Laurel's five children, Tamara (Stan) Stolpe, Todd (Kay Lynn) Anderson, Tory (Barbara) Anderson, Tara (Mike) Creager, Treg (Lisa) Anderson; 50 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren and five more due this year. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Colleen Jensen and Lucille Patton; wife, Elsie; parents, Howard and Lola; and great-grandson, Jaden Jensen.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at the LDS Church located at 1100 East 400 North, American Fork, Utah. Viewing will be held at the church from 6 until 8 p.m. Wed. July 6, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thurs., preceding the service.
A viewing will also be held in Burley, Idaho, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, on Friday, July 8, from 1 until 3 p.m., followed by a graveside service at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, Idaho.

Dear Jensen family,

My dad, Harold Wilcox, sure liked his cousin Reed! For my part, I liked how he seemed to be cheerful and friendly and I enjoyed getting to know him and you second cousins over the years.

It's hard to say goodbye though, even with the gospel, and I express my condolence to you all and to Laurel.
