Reldon Heaps Obituary

Reldon V. Heaps 1915 ~ 2008 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Reldon V. Heaps returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday November 14, 2008 at home after a short illness. He was born January 9, 1915 in Cannonville, Utah to Adelbert and Mary Jane Mangum Heaps. He married Faye Ovard on March 27, 1935 and two weeks later on April 10 they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Reldon was a devoted member of the LDS Church. He loved helping people and was always at his post of duty. He was a masterful gardener and tended to his garden almost up until his death. Strangers have stopped to ask how he grew the beautiful roses that lined his driveway. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Faye were able to travel for many years after retirement. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, sons Blaine and Dale (Kathy), (Colleen, wife of deceased son Kent), nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law and five sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kent, three brothers- Jess, LaMont and Willard and three sisters - Una, Ora and Opal, Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Park Ward - 435 East 5600 South Murray, Utah. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church before the funeral. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E. 10600 S. in Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Perpetual Education Fund. Online condolences at www.larkincares.com

Dear Dale and Kathy - I only heard of your Dad's passing yesterday afternoon. And have only found the obituary now. I am sorry to have missed the services. I'd have liked to give your Mom my condolences. I always enjoyed seeing your Dad when I was at family functions. He was always fun to be around.
