I knew Brother Uhl in Rapid City, S D in 1968. He had just joined the church and was so enthusiastic. My husband, Brian was his home teaching companion so they spent a lot of time together. After the divorce, he spent a lot of time at our house. He also rented the upstairs in his home to some of our best friends so we had lots of connection with him.
Our daughter had a health issue when she only several months old and he was generous enough to give her some treatments that solved the problem. The last time we saw him was sad. My husband was going to Viet Nam so we were moving back to Oregon. He stood in the middle of our empty house with tears. I shall never forget that picture. He was so thoughtful and compassionate to people. Above all, he loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a great example of carrying on when life was full of obstacles. Perhaps he and Brian will meet soon and they can talk over old times.
Thank you so much for posting so many pictures. I enjoyed them.

Richard was such a kind and gentle man. He was in our ward in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He had a beautiful family with children the near the same ages as ours, so we were able to watch them grow up together. We were happy to have him in our life. Our condolences to the family.
