Robert Henkel Obituary

Robert L. Henkel "Live to Ride ~ Ride to Live" Robert (Bob) Henkel, age 61, passed away April 1, 2006 in West Valley City. Born March 12, 1945 in Salt Lake City, a son of Fredrick and Gladys Wilkinson Henkel. Married the love of his life, Shelly Larsen, March 19, 2004 in Salt Lake City. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army through the Vietnam era in Thailand. He loved his motorcycle and enjoyed riding it whenever possible. He worked for Concrete Products for 28 years; everyone who worked with him loved him. Bob made friends wherever he went. If you saw his smile and heard him laugh, you were his friend for life. Survived by his loving wife, Shelly; daughters, Laural Lynn (Jason) Wilcox, Misti Mae Henkel; son, Robert Sean (Carla) Henkel. He loved them dearly and was very proud of their accomplishments. Also survived by stepchildren, Scott (Kathy), Shawn (Alysia), Kevin, Christy (Seth); grandchildren, Deanna, B'Elana, Kristopher, Kaylee, Angel, Taylor, Ryleigh, Shayden, Shelby; brother, Fredrick; cousin, nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Angel and Scooby. Preceded in death by mother; brother, Dave; two sisters, Judy Lynn and Laurel Jean. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Georgetown Ward Building, 5927 South Parkwood Drive (5030 West). I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
