Robert Tibbs Obituary

Robert Henry Tibbs 1925 ~ 2003  INDIANOLA: Robert Henry Tibbs, 78 of Indianola, UT died on Dec. 4, 2003 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a short illness.  He was born May 31, 1925 in Eureka, UT. He was the son of Robert David and Elizabeth Almira Spencer Tibbs. He married Frances Mae Foit on Nov. 1, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She died June 28, 1994. Later married Renee' DePew Thomas. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines, Army and Air force and was honorably discharged. Robert lived most of his life in Indianola. He was a dairy farmer and worked for 29 years at Geneva Steel. He loved to travel and visited almost every state. He enjoyed wood working, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed pitching horseshoes and developed many friendships. His greatest joy was his family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many different callings.  He is survived by his children Don (Cheryl) Tibbs , Indianola, UT; Margaret (Marvin) Shaw, Arvada, CO; Harriet (Ed) Jorgensen, Orem, UT; Stephen (Kathy) Tibbs, Spanish Fork, UT; 12 grandchildren, two great-grand-children with two on the way. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Indianola Ward Chapel, 131 E. 100 N. Fairview, UT. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Magleby-Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N. 100 W.) Mt. Pleasant, UT and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment Indianola, UT.
