Robin Cardon Obituary

11/28/29 ~ 3/21/17
Our loving mother passed away on March 21, 2017 at age 87. She kept the 1st and 2nd commandments. She gave God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ her constant love and devotion; in turn she treated everyone with whom she came in contact with love and kindness. She shared her talents without restraint.
She was born in Sacramento, California to Richard W. and Ethelene Varley Robinson. In their home she learned to embrace and truly live the teachings of Jesus Christ. Gifts of faith, love, good humor, creativity, and music were cultivated bearing fruits of friendship, trust, respect and joy.
While serving 2 ½ years on an LDS mission to the France-Belgium Mission, she met a fellow missionary who would become her eternal companion. She married her sweetheart Louis Bellamy Cardon on December 22, 1953 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Their 63 years of partnership, and the strength of their mutual devotion to each other and to the Savior, are gifts beyond measure to their posterity. Mom adored her 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She found nobility and divinity in motherhood.
After raising her own children she expanded her reach and became a first grade teacher at Cherry Hill Elementary School for 13 years. She was a master teacher because she taught as the Master taught. She loved her students and prayed nightly for inspiration to fill their individual needs. Her fruits were noticed and she was awarded the "Teacher of the Year" award for the Alpine School District.
Her musical gifts and domestic talents enriched her home and community. She was a trained organist. It was her desire to bear her testimony and love of the gospel in her music. She taught individually and in groups to all who had a desire to learn the organ. She served for decades as a ward and stake organist, but her greatest joy came from being a temple organist.
Mom and Dad loved the temple and served as ordinance workers in the Provo Temple for 14 years, but 2 days a week in the temple was not enough so they served a mission to the Swiss Temple in Zollikofen, Switzerland for 18 months.
She was truly, "an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." Mom, we commend you to His trusted care.
Robin is cherished by her husband Louis, her children: Becky (Greg) Smith, Scott (Kathy) Cardon, Carol (Mike) Dyer, her Grandsons: Shane Smith, Erik (Amanda) Smith, Landon Cardon, Nathan Cardon, Zac (Nicole) Cardon, Devin (Carolynn) Dyer, and her granddaughters: Melissa (Jeff) Smith, Michelle (Todd) Jaramillo, Chantal (Jerry) Tibbitts, Alicia (Steve) Taylor, with 10 great grandsons and 9 great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters; Tessa (Rudy) Bianchini, Barbara (Bob) Borg and Varlele (Jay) Turner, and 1 grandson: Kimball McKay Dyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the LDS chapel located at 665 South 200 West, Orem, Utah. Viewing at 10:00, prior to services. Interment in Orem City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Temple Patron Assistance Fund.

Dear Cardon Family,

May I express my sincere sympathy in the loss of your beautiful mother and wife. The obituary was so beautifully written and it was the perfect description of an "elect lady". Robin and I served together in the Stake Relief Society Presidency in Midway. What an incredible example of sacrifice, willingness to give, humility, kindness, and love. I truly loved your mother as if she were my own. She so patiently gave me weekly organ lessons always with a smile and encouragement for me to keep trying. She did love her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than life. She visited me often and she was so very proud of all your accomplishments. I left Midway 2 1/2 years ago and am now living in Hurricane. I have some wonderful thoughts, memories, and her firm testimony tucked away in my heart. May you be blessed with peace and comfort, sunshine and laughter, faith and testimony, and most of all love. Martha Remund
