Rocky Ferguson Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday in Bissell Chapel Cemetery in Athens, Arkansas. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Rocky was born May 24, 1956, in Borger to Stonie Dee Ferguson and Joyce Jean Greenwood Ferguson. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Rocky was a dedicated policeman for the cities of Fritch, Stinnett, Pampa; then as a sheriff's deputy for Gray County and retired as a sheriff's deputy from Terry County. He loved his time wearing the badge. Rocky enjoyed fishing, trolling being his favorite, playing 31 and wahoo. He had a heart for people, always making it a point to ensure everyone had something to eat. Even in the hospital he was worried about his nurses, always asking them if he could get them some food or a snack. Rocky never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stonie and Joyce Ferguson; and sisters, Kaylene Dale and Annadon Keys.
Survivors include his sons, Rocky Dee Ferguson, Jr., Dustin Wayne Ferguson and wife Denise, Stonie James Ferguson all of Borger; daughters, Jodee Ann Smith and husband, Chris, Brandee Jo Ferguson, Kristen Kaylene Williams and husband Slatercade all of Fritch; mother of his children, Val Ridlehuber of Borger; grandchildren, Destiny Ferguson, Brandon Day, Rocky Ferguson, III, JR Bowen, Jasper Smith, Riot Williams, Ryler Bowen, Rush Williams, Trevor Bowen; brothers, Sandy Dale Ferguson of Borger, Dennis Tollett of Weatherford, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
