Flossmoor, Illinois-Dr. Rodger Carl Lerohl, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Flossmoor, Illinois on Thursday, June 1, 2023. He was born August 5, 1937 to Orien and Eunice Lerohl in Blackfoot, Idaho. Rodger is survived by Karen Marie Davis, whom he married on August 28, 1964 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple, and their four sons Robert (Christine), Eric (Valerie), Nate (Lorenna), Chris, 11 grandchildren, and one great grandson. Rodger and his only brother Jerry, (deceased), grew up in Ogden Utah and attended Ben Lomond High School. As a young man he served in the National Guard for 8 years and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He became a journeyman plumber and started his own plumbing business in Ogden. He left a successful business to answer a call to serve a 2-year church mission in the New England States and Canada.

Rodger attended BYU and Weber State University prior to graduating from Northwestern Dental School in 1968. For more than 50 years he practiced dentistry at 30 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago and the South suburbs.

Throughout his life, Rodger faithfully served in many capacities in the church. He influenced many in his ecclesiastical work while serving in Bishoprics and Stake and Mission Presidencies, and as Bishop and Stake President, and as a temple worker. Outside of church he loved serving in The Boy Scouts of America. He was an officer on the Calumet Council, earned his Wood Badge, On My Honor and the Silver Beaver awards.

Rodger had a love for life and adventure. He loved time with his family and friends, traveling, holidays, fishing, hunting (especially ducks), gardening, family history, scuba diving, work projects - the harder...the better, puzzles, cards, games, movies, dental lab work, and making jewelry, to name a few.

Papa will be greatly missed by his family and everyone blessed to know him.

A Memorial service will be held July 29th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2930 South 2000 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84106

Burial will be at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.
