Ronald passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on June 8, 2017 after a long illness. He was born on January 2, 1939 in Woods Cross, UT to Merlin June and Irene Parkin Burr. He was raised in Salt Lake County. He was a lifelong resident of Utah due to his love of the mountains.
After serving in the US Marine Corps, he met the love of his life, Peggie Worthen. They were married on March 6, 1959 and together had four sons Martin, Ricky (Kristy), Blaine and Wayne. He dedicated 40 years working for the same company. Ronnie had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping and a unique love for animals that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He loved spending his days with family playing games, going to amusement parks and enjoying the outdoors. We will miss his jokes, punctuality and gracious heart.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, sons, sister Joann Lovendahl, nieces Shauna Derbyshire, Sharlene McKenna and Denise Lovendahl, nephews David and Steven Lovendahl and Greg Burr, grandchildren Jessica, Thomas, Kelsey, Matthew, David (Brianna), Jana, Jesse (Matt), Chris and Destiny (David) and his great grandson Alex. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Alan Burr, brother and sister-in-law Spencer and Caroll Worthen, niece Patty Burr and his beloved cat Tigger.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) Sandy, UT. There will be a visitation held Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at the mortuary. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
