Rose Glissmeyer Hart

Rose Hart Obituary

Rose Glissmeyer Hart 1907 ~ 2005 Rose Glissmeyer Hart, 98, passed away October 31, 2005. She was born in Salt Lake City on September 20, 1907. Her parents were Henry William Glissmeyer and Rosa Beutler. She married Heber Lorenzo Hart on November 1, 1926 in Salt Lake City and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Her childhood was spent on the west side of Salt Lake City in a German neighborhood. Her parents had immigrated from Germany and Switzerland after having joined the LDS Church. She learned German from her parents and spoke both German and English. She and her sister Margaret were wonderful singers and entertained often. She attended McCune School of music. Rose graduated from Henagers Business College. She spent her entire married life in Bountiful and was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. She was a great support to her husband through the depression and the subsequent years when he had to work so hard. She worked for a few years in the school lunch program. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor and always appreciated the kindness of her friends and neighbors. She loved music and spent many hours playing her grand piano and then later her organ. She was beautiful seamstress and loved to sew for her grandchildren. She loved china painting and was very proficient at it. She was able to do it even into her eighties and nineties. She gave countless plates, cups and other articles to her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children. She loved dearly her 22 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren and could remember all of their names. She was widowed at age 86 but lived in her home another 11 years. Her alertness and energy belied her age. She was active in the LDS church and attended the temple often even into her nineties. She especially loved Sunday School and Relief Society classes and never tired of learning about the gospel. She is survived by a daughter Bonnie (Newell) Bryson of Bountiful and three sons: Richard H. (Arlene) Hart of Cour De Lane, Idaho; Gerald H. (Letty) Hart of Sandy and David G. (Jeanne) Hart of Ogden. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one grandson Richard Grant Hart; two sisters and one brother: Margaret Skabelund, Frieda Glissmeyer, and Henry John Glissmeyer. The family would like to thank Dr. Val Hansen for the special care that was shown to our mother. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Bountiful 7th Ward Chapel, 1250 South Main Street. Friends may call Thursday November 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East and Friday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
