I will always cherish my memories of the many years working with Ruth! She set a great example of kindness, thoughtfulness and positive attitude .. in addition to being extremely efficient at her job. We have missed her in the office since her 4/15/2005 retirement .. but, oh, how she enjoyed being retired so she could do the things she loved most - spending time with her family and going on her mission to Nauvoo. Rest in peace, Ruthie, and know that you made the world a better place by being in it.

SUCH FUN MEMORIES I HAVE OF A BEAUTIFUL, ENERGETIC RUTHIE STANDING AT THE TOP OF THE RISERS. AS A LEAD SHE WAS EVER SO STRONG AND ACCURATE; AS A CHOREOGRAPHY TEACHER, SO PATIENT AND ENDURING; AS A QUARTET MEMBER, SO SHOWY AND ENTHUSIASTIC. THANKS, RUTHIE FOR ADDING SUCH GOOD MEMORIES TO MY TIME WITH THE MT. JUBILEE CHORUS. SISTER VICKY TELFORD, LONDON ENGLAND MISSION

Serving on the ward Relief Society Homemaking, later Enrichment, Committee with Ruth was always fun! I enjoyed working with her and sharing the work of providing activities for the sisters in the Millstream Ward. Ruth was a talented, thoughtful, enthusiastic person. She was always willing to share her talents whenever I asked her to help with a stake project. I will miss hearing her beautiful singing voice in church. She was truly a Christlike individual.

Dear Family of Ruth's, How very much we loved your mother. She came out a month before us to Nauvoo and we sat at the Cultural Hall many evenings together singing the songs before we were put into the cast. We enjoyed playing games with her and loved her dearly. She was a very talented and spiritual lady and we miss her so much in our cast. She was always happy and smiling and helped to build others up. She was a great addition to our mission. She loved being site leader at the Lyons Drug and did a great job telling the Lyons story. We are so glad she enjoyed the plant at Christmas time. We hope she loved all the pictures we sent of Nauvoo at Christmas. We pray the Lord will uplift you all and bless you with his spirit at this hard time. We know she will continue her great spirit and love to all she meets in the next world. May you remember all the good times and live so she would be proud of you all. May the Lord bless you all. All our Love

Ruthie was such a fine example of someone who carried with them the light of Christ. She also had the voice of an Angel. I had great fun standing on the back row with her in chorus for a season. She was so spunky and full of life. I know she will be quite the ring leader in the chorus above. And to Betty, my prayers are with you and your family.

Marci,
I've been thinking about you and your family lately, and am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I remember, as a kid, she'd be worried about us out on the trampoline, would bake the best breadsticks (well, all of her cooking and baking was wonderful, but I especially remember those breadsticks), and she was a second mom to me as I was almost always at your house as a kid. She'll be missed.

To the McPhee Family,
Ruth was such a delight to be around. Always positive and so talented and willing to share it. She will be greatly missed. Our love goes out to all of you.

To the McPhee Family, I served here in Nauvoo with your Mom. She was a great inspiration and help to me. She showed me how to be strong and we enjoyed working jigsaws puzzles together at Lyon Drug and meeting in the computer room each morning. I will cherish the time I spent with her here and look forward to a reunion in the next life. My prayers are with all of you.

Ruth Denos McPhee is indelibly etched in my heart for her sweet, vibrant, full-of-pep spirit. Her outlook on life was positive. Her countenance radiated the love of the Savior. She lifted my day as we worked together in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission Office with her sense of humor and her willingness to dig right in and do anything that was asked of her, regardless of how messy or detailed. She called things as she saw them, and she was very insightful and honest. I am honored to claim her as my friend.

Ruthie was a wonderful inspiration to so many of us in Mountain Jubilee Chorus. Her beautiful voice was just the introduction to the beautiful lady she was in so many ways. I'm thankful to have sung with her, to have laughed and shared a bit of this life with her. My thoughts and prayers of peace go to her family.

To Ruth's family,
Ruth played piano for me in Primary for several years in the Dover Hill Chapel and always knew what I wanted before I asked. She had amazing musical skills. I loved teaching all of her children in Primary. She was my good neighbor for more than 20 years. She'll be dearly missed. Much love, Margaret Taylor

This is such a loss for everyone who knew and loved Ruth. I sang with her in the Mountain Jubilee Chorus, the smaller Extension Chords group, and I roomed with her once or twice as we traveled around to all of our competitions. What a bright spirit who is now a bright spot in Heaven.

Ruth was an inperation to me. When I joined the Mt.Jubilee Chorus she was my riser buddy I stood next to her and listened and learned from her beautyful voice I was young only 18 and knew nothing about barbershop music or how to sing it. she helped me learn the important things about barbershop but most important she helped me have fun. I will miss you very much Ruth you were a wonderful person and I love You. Tell my loved once up in heaven with you hello for me and that I love them too. Untill We Meet Again.

What a wonderful woman was Ruthie McPhee! I joined the Mountain Jubilee Chorus two years ago and Ruthie was the rock of the lead section. She was the one I went to when I needed a good recording of the many songs to learn, always so accurate! Ruthie, I still hear your voice in my head as I sing those songs you recorded for me. I bet you can sing a great duet with my mom in Heaven, look her up, okay? My love and prayers to your family. May God grant you all comfort.

Gary, Shae, Missy, Jody, Marci, Heather & Ted : Ruth has been a joy to work with during the 17 years she served so efficiently as our dedicated secretary. We will miss her positive attitude, beautiful singing voice and contagious smile. She set an extraordinary example for us all to follow. We appreciated being on her weekly e-mail list while she was in Nauvoo and communicating with her about the wonderful experiences that she was having there. She was in "Seventh Heaven" and is now in "the real thing" in heaven, soon to be "Celestial Glory". Our love and prayers are with your family, now and always. We thank you for sharing her with us. So many happy thoughts of the Mountain Jubilee Chorus include Ruthie. She was such a bright spot up on the top of the risers, always giving her best and giving of herself to help someone else enjoy singing and performing just a little more. We are so blessed to have known her. Prayers for you, Betty, and the rest of Ruthie's family.

Hi Ruth, I have so many fond memories of my time standing next to you on the risers and trying to follow your animation in singing. You and Betty helped welcome a stranger into the chorus who didn't know anyone. I'm sure there is a place for your wonderful musical talent up there. Love, Virginia
