Samuel George Liddiard

January 28, 1963 - June 27, 2025

American Fork - Samuel George Liddiard, age 62, of American Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Murray, Utah. He was born on January 28, 1963, in Provo, Utah, to Samuel George Liddiard and Leola Anne Dean Liddiard.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Sam cherished every moment spent in the embrace of his family. Known for his infectious laughter and warm heart, he found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the great outdoors. Whether fishing, camping, or cycling, Sam's passion for nature resonated deeply with those who knew him.

Sam dedicated much of his life to community service, marked by his long tenure in law enforcement. He began his career in Vernal for 3 years before serving with honor for 28 years at the American Fork Police Department. He served as SWAT commander, K9 officer, detective, and lieutenant, helping countless people and keeping his town and loved ones safe. Throughout his career, Sam had the Lord in his heart and never hesitated to help those in need, often spending his own money to assist others. His commitment to justice and public safety continued as he joined the State of Utah DOPL investigations.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sam devoted himself to service in many capacities, Sam served an LDS mission in San Diego, California, where he learned Spanish and served for 11 months, baptizing many people teaching them about Jesus Christ. Sam later became the first bishop of the newly formed American Fork 29th Ward he was a bishop for 5 years. He valued his faith and the sense of community it fostered, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.

Sam will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Robyn; his children, Philip (Crystal), Nicholas, David, Christopher (Kaylee), Jennifer (Riley) Naillon, and Daniel; as well as six adoring grandchildren Mica, Philo, Todd, RJ, Eloquinn, and Edith. He is also survived by his mother, Leola; and siblings, Jefrey Liddiard and Joy Anne Bougard. He is preceded in death by his father Samuel G. Liddiard Sr. and his beloved son, Kevin James Liddiard.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the American Fork Central Stake Center located at 300 North 100 East. A visitation will take place from 9 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to the services. Sam will be laid to rest at the American Fork Cemetery, where he will be remembered with love and respect.

As we celebrate Sam's life, we invite all who knew him to gather, share stories, and honor a man who truly made a difference in the lives of countless others. He will be missed dearly, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Special thanks to all the emergency responders who brought Sam back and blessed him with a few more days for his family to have the chance to say goodbye.
