Our hearts and prayers have been with you since we learned of the loss of your daughter, Sophie. We were very sad! Our thoughts also turned to Pat and the happy reunion it must have been for them both. Please give Harbid a hug for us, too!! Sophie was in my English class last year. I knew her to be a sweet, interesting young woman with a beautiful smile for everyone around her. Even her name, Sophie Rose, spoke so much about her attitude and sunny spirit. I had no idea she was so musically talented, yet through her writing and the depth of her understanding of what was discussed in class, I felt she held the potential of all the world in front of her. I was so shocked and saddened to hear about this tragedy; I know that all of Olympus High will miss her. My warm thoughts and good wishes go out to Kent, Anne-Marie and the whole Barton Family.

I was soooo sad to hear the news of Sophie. She had such an awesome voice and she could play really good too. I felt a deep conection with her when I read about how she did funny things and didnt care what people thought, she just had fun and made people laugh. Just the way I am. I am a guitar player also and I just cant help but think about her when I pick up my guitar. She is still playing and singing! I thoughts and prayers go out to the Burton family. I have the most wonderful vision of two beautifully talented, beautifully poised, and extremely talented young girls who graced the stage at the Womens Redrock Music Festival last year in Torrey, Utah. I was honored to work with Sophie and Tessa and meet this wonderful family. My heart felt condolences to you all for the loss of your beautiful Sophie. Sophie was the nicest girl in school. she was always happy and always helping others. i was a seventh grader trying to open my locker and she came to the rescue with her warming smile and made my first day of junior high so much better. her voice was very beautiful. my prayers are with your family!

I was Sophie's chemistry teacher last year. I couldn't believe the news. I was completely shocked.She was a bright light in my day last year, always encouraging me to lighten up a little and to look on the bright side. Even this year, she'd leave little cheerful messages on my white board when I wasn't looking. I always knew who they were from. It made me smile when I saw them. So I guess she succeeded against my best efforts to be a grump. Even now, I smile through the sadness we all are feeling when thinking about her beautiful smile and spirit. We were so lucky to have her for the time we were gifted with her. My deepest condolences to Sophie's family and friends. God bless you Sophie Rose.

I had the privilege of working in the Barton home for five years, knowing Sophie since she was 11. I was lucky enough to watch Sophie accomplish more dreams in 17 years then most people do in a lifetime. She set an example to others as one of the most happiest, caring, unselfish teenager you would ever meet. There was never a moment she didn't have a smile on her face. Sophie was always full of joy. i had the opportunity and pleasure of being on a cheer squad with her and having her be my flyer's back-spot in stunting our sophomore year. There was not a moment when we werne't laughing about something sophie did or said. she was always happy and loved to laugh and make others laugh. Her voice was captivating and is now amongst the angels. She is now sharing with the angels in heaven, her joy and laughter. The Barton family is in my prayers at this time. i pray for your strength and comfort.

Anne-Marie.. I haven't seen you since College... this really caught me by surprise.. out of the blue. I just looked at Sophie's face and the resemblance is so strong. I'm pretty much at a loss. The world can be such a small place at times. I can not even imagine the emotions you are experiencing. Events like this never make sense to me... never. Good people are supposed to stick around for a full life time to balance out the world and make it a better place. I can only hope and expect you and your family will continue doing amazing things in her absense as a way to remember why we are all here. Take Care.

I don't know Sophie personally, but was able to see her and her sister perform Saturday night at Taylorsville Dayzz. She was an amazing performer, very talented and seemed to be doing what she loved. I am glad I was able to experience the girls talent and just know now that she is up in heaven watching over you and singing with the angels. God must of had a special plan for her to have taken her so suddenly. I am so sorry for your loss, just remember the good times and special memories.
