Steven Nicholls Obituary

Steven "Kurt" Nicholls Jr. 1977 ~ 2006 Our loving father, son and brother passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2006 in Sandy, Utah from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on July 21, 1977 in West Valley City to Eva (Talbot) Nielsen and Steven and Stephanie Nicholls. He married Jamie Thurgood and later divorced. He is survived by daughters Chantelle Lynn and Natasha Marie Nicholls, parents, siblings Stacie (Richard) Higley (Elko, NV); Jason (Missi) Nicholls (West Jordan); Shawn Nicholls and Natalie Nicholls (West Valley City); grandparents, RoElla Talbot (West Valley City); William Lee Talbot (Hinckley), Michael and Sharron Maughan (Newton) and great-grandmother, Velma Talbot (Delta) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by grandma Beverly Nicholls. What he loved most in life were his family and friends, first and foremost his two beautiful little girls. His passion in life would have to be the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. He truly loved a challenge and the fast life was his way to live. He was employed at Cate Equipment Co. as a hard working mechanic with skilled hands. The funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and an hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be held at Deseret Cemetery in Delta, Utah at 3:00 p.m. Kurt's memory will live on in hearts of those closest to him.. Always loved and never forgotten.

My sons grew up with the Nicholls boys and my son Hayden was at one time best friends with Kurt. He was a good friend to him and was a great influence to him as well. Kurt lived life to the fullest and he will be missed by all that knew him and loved him! My heart is heavy with his passing and my prayers go out to his family. It is a journey we all must make and I am sure that Kurt will make this journey like he lived his life, with zest and gusto! Good bye Kurt and Godspeed!

I was Kurt’s best friend growing up, and we have not talked in years now. I just found out today that he has passed on, and I was overwhelmed with sadness and many great memories. I hope his girls will always know what a great person he was and the friendship and support that he gave to all. I wish I had have known him more in our latter years, I am sure he was just as much fun now as he was then. Kurt had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest I had always hoped we would get in touch again and now I have lost the chance. Steve, Stephanie and Kurt’s family and friends I can only hope that all of the good memories stay with you for all time.

My wife, Charmaine, called me last night and gave me the bad news about your son, Steve, passing away. Charmaine and I want to convey our condolences to you, your wife and the rest of your family. I worked with Kurt for almost 2 years at Cate Equipment! He was a joy to have around and such a great guy! He will be missed by all, but his never give up attitude will live on and stay with us!! He did his job well and was one of the best! He always had silly little stories to tell me and I always enjoyed a good laugh with him! I'll always miss him!! I'm here for you all at this sad time!
