Thomas Williams Obituary

Thomas Givins Williams

02/01/1937 - 02/21/2026

- Thomas Givins Williams, beloved husband, brother and brother-in-law, 89, passed away on February 21, 2026 at the Niitsuma Living Center from natural causes. Born February 1, 1937 in Houston, TX to Daniel and Margaret Williams. Tom was married to Janice Tawa and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last March. Tom retired from Intermountain Health Care (IHC) Utah Valley Regional Hospital in 1999 after 31 years of service. When living in Kanab, Utah, Tom claimed his 15 minutes of fame as an "extra" calvary soldier in the 1966 Western film, Duel at Diablo starring James Garner and Sidney Poitier. Tom will be remembered by his nurses and caregivers as "cheerful and charming as ever!" and for his positive attitude. Survived by his older sister, Shirley Webster (Houston TX); in-laws: Jane (Fumihiko) Watanabe; Janet (Byron) Petersen; Joanne (Gordon) Nakaki-Hanson and three generations of nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his devoted wife, Janice; brother Donald Williams; sister Anna McMahon; and brothers-in-law Kevin Webster and Daniel Tawa.

His Utah and Texas families express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated IHC Hospice Team; compassionate GG personal caregivers; and, very special Niitsuma Living Center caregivers and companions. As per his wishes, no services will be held.
