Timothy Fahringer Obituary

Timothy John Fahringer

1962 ~ 2022

Timothy John Fahringer passed away at home on February 13, 2022.

Tim was born on March 11, 1962. He was raised in Simi Valley and Ventura, California, graduating from Ventura High School in 1980. Tim received athletic scholarships to play football at the University of Nevada-Reno, Ventura College and the University of Utah. In 1982, Tim was the University of Utah's leading scorer as their place-kicker and became known as "Ute 9." He ended his time with the Utes as a Special Teams coach, graduated with a Bachelor of Science—Marketing and was on the Dean's List.

After college, Tim's first job was with Electronic Data Systems Corp. (EDS) in Detroit. He left EDS and subsequently received an MBA on a full tuition scholarship from the University of Southern California. Following his time at USC, Tim worked at KPMG Peat Marwick in Los Angeles for 12 years, with increasing responsibilities and success, departing as Managing Director of the Global Financial Strategies Group. This was followed by another successful career as a Managing Director for Kerlin Capital Group. Tim ultimately founded his own investment banking firm, Saint Laurent Capital, Inc. based in Long Beach.

Tim's professional career was characterized by continuous improvement. He held numerous designations and licenses—Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, FINRA Series 7, 24, 27, 63, 79 and 99. He was a broker, investment analyst, advisor, and an Accredited Senior Appraiser.

Tim's love of sports continued. He served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Sports Council, where he contributed to landing the NCAA Collegiate Ice Hockey "Frozen Four" championship which was held at the Anaheim Pond. Tim was a member of the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association's Executive Committee and was an active Alumnus serving his beloved Utes.

Tim enjoyed coaching football, playing ice hockey, cooking gourmet meals on the Traeger, and playing golf at Virginia Country Club with family and his many friends. Tim was a loving father, loyal friend, mentor, and teammate. His passion and drive had an enormous positive impact on all those who knew him, especially his longtime friends Adrian Crisp, Erik Nelson, Jim Barrick, Bob Neary, and Joe Turner, who were like brothers to him. Tim will be missed and forever remembered.

Tim is survived by his fiancée and love of his life, Marcie Landeros, and his children, Christian, Brett, Cora, Owen, and Emma. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Michael Fahringer. He is also survived by his mother, Claudia Fahringer; sisters Teresa (Don) Pequignot and Juliana (Matt) West; nieces Kristen (Dan) Mendenhall, Anne (Chris) Lien, Kate (Wil) Watters, Grace (Kevin) McNeela, Mary-Margaret West, Helen West; great nephews Michael and Mitchell Mendenhall and great niece, Margot Lien.

Burial Services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA on March 11, 2022, at 9:30 am., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life. If you plan to attend, please email [email protected] for details and updates.

Look into the eyes of intensity and focus. Do you see? Tim would say, We are resolute!
His words never went in one ear and out the other. When Tim spoke, the words took their place. Forever, seared in your heart and your head. Ready for a kick (Pun intended) Man, could Tim send it through the uprights.
No day was complete without Tim's reverberation of an incredible quote from one of his enduring mentors.
And yet, Tim introduced me to joy unspeakable!

Claudia, I Thank You and God for Timmy!

How I long "to be with my best friend for eternity." Tim's recent last encouraging words, "Hold onto that thought!"

With love and prayers for the Fahringer family

Carry on my wayward son. There will be peace when you are done.
