Salt Lake City, Utah-Vicky Vernon Hansen Smith passed away July 5, 2018. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 21, 1952, to Art K. Vernon and Betty Ann Shelton. Vicky married Thad L. Hansen on October 9, 1980, in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away on January 18, 2005. Vicky married Don Carlos Smith on March 23, 2007. Vicky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to spend time with family, crochet blankets and play games.
Vicky was preceded in death by her husband, Thad L. Hansen and daughter Cindy Long (Nathan). Vicky is survived by spouse, Don Carlos Smith; daughters: Anna Marie Dumas (Daniel), Veronica Hansen and Amy Hansen; sons: Von, Aaron (Sandra), Randy (Sandy), Andy, and Troy (Louise); brothers: Scott Kay Vernon (Shauna) and Brent Shelton Vernon (Tina); sisters: Janeida McCombs (Ramon) and Diane Gamble (Scott); 24 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Viewings will be held at Cannon Mortuary on Friday, July 13, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 10-10:45 a.m. A gathering will follow at 11 a.m. for family and friends. The address is 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South). Internment at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
